General Stock Discussion / Docusign for digial releases
« on: September 16, 2020, 10:23 »
Hi,

Do we have any solution that is accepted by major stock agencies that can be completed online after the photo shoot for releases?

I see Shutterstock introducted this https://www.shutterstock.com/blog/digital-model-release, and they use Docusign plaftform (https://www.docusign.com/), anything similar for other players, Adobe stock, Istock, SS?

Thanks!

I was on SS for around 3 years, with portfolio of ~3500 images. All my images got disabled, without any notice: "This contributor has no active images in their portfolio writes when I visit https://www.shutterstock.com/g/milanstojanovic. I can still login into my account.
What I suspect happend is that in late December, out of blue, someone bought 12 EL (out of 14 images in that series), most of those images aren't that popular, and they all looking alike (similar compositions, one cute woman portraits).
At first I thought it's a bug, went here to check if someone posted about same behavior, saw nothing similar. Still since I earned ~250$ in a day, which if a lot more then usual I didn't get my hopes high. December finished, and soon I got regular automated email stating that my earnings have been compound and that I'll receive earnings in full ("regular" sales + those 12 EL). Around ~5th January my portfolio went missing. I wrote to support on several occasions, no replay. I wrote to them yesterday too, on another topic (15th passed by, which is a time I should received a payment), and posted on SS forum:https://forums.submit.shutterstock.com/topic/70862-missing-images-thread-read-this-before-reporting/?page=26&tab=comments#comment-1654335

I'm ok with them ... evaluating is it a fraudulent transaction and such, but what's upsetting is they didn't give me any notice or replied to my support tickets. At the mean time, sales are down :(
Any advice, how to even get them to respond? Did anyone had some situation, how did it end?
Thanks!

Hi, I been shooting stock for ~2 years, this is what I done so far, you can see condensed version here at my site, or at Shutterstock whole library. I'm uploading to all top and mid tier agencies, RF only.

I like shooting people, lifestyle & portraits, working with zero budgets (thinking I will invest once I earn more), shooting almost always local people, who would like to model ... Reason I want my portfolio to be critiqued is simple, I earn usually around 100-200$ per month, which is a shame, I can't even pay rent with that kind of money :/
I find it hard to enter into any 'specialized' agencies (for example Blend images declined my application few days ago, Offset, Stocksy and imagesource too).

I would really appreciate if forum member who is longer into microstock, gives me any direction/tips.
Thanks!
Milan

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out how does www.picjumbo.com subscription model work; Ok they use Gumroad to process payments, but how do they automatically deliver new customer access to files? Through Dropbox I assume, probably by sharing folder (with a simple link), that's fine but how to cancel access to that same folder once customer stops paying for service?

To run picjumbo PREMIUM Membership, we use two excellent services: Gumroad and Dropbox. Gumroad is the payment processor; and Dropbox is the storage platform for all PREMIUM Collections. So once you order the PREMIUM, you will receive an email with receipt and relevant links to access the content, and latest PREMIUM update right after that.

Via Dropbox you can download the photos or collections even without needing to have a Dropbox account. You can always download either individual picture or the whole collections by clicking Download and then Download as .zip

Newbie Discussion / What to give models to read? (CC magazines?)
« on: January 12, 2017, 21:17 »
Hi!
Was just shooting some lifestyle pictures in caffe and there we found local newspaper, which is copyrighted. Now I have troubles hiding those parts of image, newspaper is clearly visible. How do you solve this problem, is there any 'public domain', cc0, magazine which I can print out (front page only maybe?). Or some other alternative? :)

I could print out my own version of free Canva magazine template, but I doubt that can be used in microstock. edit: just checked, that would require Extended licence which is pricey 100$ :/

Canva / How to get accepted at Canva?

Hi, I have my portfolio > www.milanstojanovic.com, and I got rejected as a contributor photographer few times.
What am I doing wrong, what kind of images I'm missing to provide?

General Stock Discussion / Textile design copyright?
« on: June 03, 2016, 18:18 »
Hi,
long story short, I shot catalog images of bow ties for local designer, who doesn't wanna pay. That is why I'm considering uploading them on stock sites to get some return of investment, in the end they are my images.
Many of those bow ties look 'generic', some variations in colors/shapes/patterns and such, some with flowers, some without ... but some look like they had their own textile printed or had some accessories added (little duck, and such). Should I worry if I sell them online, for that designer copyright issues?
Some examples to make things more clear, link to google drive:

Hi, I was reading standard model release form, where it says under Definitions:
Quote
"CONSIDERATION" means $1 or something else of value I have received in exchange for the rights granted by me in this release.

Currently I'm not playing model, and I was asking myself is model release valid when for example, model receives ('final' stock) photos I will be sending to agency, as "something else of value" if that is what we agreed on?

Hi guys, do you keyword shot types (close up, head shot, medium, American, ...)?
Do you think it is useful? Are buyers that aware there is even names for them, and use them when searching for pictures?
