Adobe Stock / Lowest commission on Adobe now 25 cents?
« on: August 21, 2018, 17:23 »
For months and months now the lowest commission I have gotten from Adobe is 29 cents. Today I got a 25 cent commission. Race to the bottom? Discounting and making the contributor pay for it? Has anyone else had this? 😞

There was a new post by a newbie containing a whole bunch of non-related-to-microstock links. I was going to move it to the garbage bin and report it to leaf, but it moved the fair use thread instead, and I dont see the other post at all now. My apologies. I have sent a message to Leaf explaining. Site hacked again?

Nothing whatsoever to do with microstock.

This topic has been moved to Garbage Bin.

Shutterstock.com / comp license to full license?
« on: July 21, 2017, 14:13 »
Just got an email from SS that says:

"We are writing to let you know that a comp license to your image with Shutterstock ID #### is being converted to a full license, per the Shutterstock Contributor Terms of Service. If there is a legal issue with doing so, please respond back to us within 2 days. Please note that this license will appear as a royalty in your Shutterstock account in the amount of $."

In all the years, I havent gotten an email like this before. I think it just means that someone downloaded a comp image and now is buying a license to actually use it but why would they be asking me if there is a legal issue? Its a food image, no people, no logos.

Anyone else ever gotten one of these?

Add me to the list of people not receiving email notifications anymore, since the Adobe/Fotolia mirroring. I know some mentioned it in another thread, but I can't seem to find which thread that was. I checked my settings on both the Fotolia site and the Adobe site, and they are all checked.

Adobe Stock / Interesting popup on Fotolia site
« on: July 05, 2016, 07:49 »
I just navigated to a contributors portfolio on Fotolia to check something out, and I got an interesting popup (attached). Looks like they are sending people over to the Adobe Stock website. Maybe they will discontinue the Fotolia site, and Fotolia altogether eventually?

Once I chose to go back to the Classic Fotolia site, then went to the same portfolio though, I did not get the popup again.

123RF / Question to those who have images at 123rf
« on: March 23, 2016, 14:06 »
This is purely just out of curiosity...
I do a monthly magazine, and was looking for some images for it. I drop a low rez FPO in until the client approves all the pages, then I go buy the images. Usually the images run from 4-8 credits depending on what size I buy. One image, when I went back to buy it, the sizes were between 40 to 90 credits! I found a different solution, but I am just wondering...how does this contributor get to charge so much more than other contributors? Are contributors allowed to set their own prices? This is the first time I have run into this on 123rf.

It is image #19522696

I am signed up for google alerts. They hardly ever work, but I got one yesterday with a link that says Mixed Cathleen A Clapper on Online RSS. The link takes me to www dot mixedpics dot xyz/Cathleen-A-Clapper

Most of the images are watermarked Shutterstock images, which I don't mind, but clicking them doesnt take you to Shutterstock to purchase it, instead it tells you how to download free images  >:( . Some of the images aren't even mine. If I right click on the unwatermarked horse trotting in fog, I can download a small image that has been stolen from istock (I haven't had my images on istock for years). If I click the link from the google alert multiple times, sometimes different images come up. Again, most watermarked (see some from Fotolia too) but I found another unwatermarked image that is 3.333x2.41 at 300ppi, large enough to use.

I have sent a DMCA for the one image to the site, let's see what is done about it.

Does anyone know what this is or how it is being generated?
