There are no taxes on the price of crude. Thats market driven. And no matter how much drilling the US does, its still a global market price for crude thats impacted by production of OPEC+. As for Keystone, those tar sands are the most expensive to extract, so its not profitable below like $100 per barrel. And the oil companies already have tons of leased land that theyre not producing from. Partly because it takes time to ramp up production after the low prices during Covid. And partly because theyre enjoying the record profits. And youre right, Im not really impacted by inflation because Im a micro stock photographer 😉

I love how conservatives complain about the evils of socialism and how free market capitalism solves all problems . Then when the law of supply and demand kicks in and the price of gas goes up 50 cents a gallon they complain that the government isnt doing enough. 😂

Mat, I think this is a fair program to contributors. I appreciate Adobes efforts to consider the needs of contributors. Also really appreciate your active communication in this forum. I think You and Adobe are the gold standard of stock agencies now from the contributors perspective. Thanks!

Very disappointing month. Way down from last year.

I have had some luck with Christmas images. Apparently there are buyers out there that prefer simple, below average images. One thing for sure is it wont sell if you dont upload it.

iStockPhoto.com / Partner Program Chrome Script Not Working
« on: October 03, 2016, 21:27 »
I've been using the Chrome plug-in script referenced on this forum to track my partner program sales. Up until about a month ago it worked great. Now, though, I get a warning about "Page trying to load scripts from unauthorized sources" and when I click the red arrow, the script seems to just churn. I've checked for script updates, but there aren't any. Is anyone else having this issue? Have you found a fix? Thanks.

Thanks Envato!!

That explains it!

My monthly recoupment amount times 6 equals my total recoupment amount. I can't believe they got the calculation right. That must be what took so long.  ;)

I just got an email saying they are clawing back my $37 in over payment. So much for the $50 cutoff. Hard to believe there are communication issues with IS.

I'm conflicted. As a contributor I think it should be free. As a shareholder I think it should cost a lot.  :)

Based on my sales today, I think all the other sites must be down too.  >:(

« on: November 16, 2013, 16:46 »
I'm just growing so sick of the rejections at SS. 2 identical images except 1 is portrait and 2 is landscape. 1 accepted. 1 rejected. Last month the IS partner program was my top earner. It would actually be nice if that trend continued, so I wouldn't have to feel so dependent on SS and their schizophrenic reviewers.

Someone calling themselves 'Money Investor' on Seeking Alpha is left scratching their head on SS's recent price rise;

I doubt that "money investor" has any plans to short the stock anytime soon. I'm sure his/her motives are pure and he/she is just trying to save us poor little investors who don't know any better.

Although I did take a little off the table when it jumped to $70 for no real reason.  ;)

I think an acquisition is a real possibility. But, I'm thinking it might be a Pond5 or similar in a market segment that they don't already dominate and that offers growth potential.

The market didn't see this as a warning sign. SSTK closed above $70 up 16% today. And on a day the overall market was down. They certainly can't continue that trajectory, but Wall Street doesn't see this as a negative for the company.

This is what they call a buying opportunity. Unless you think ss is going to stop growing and stop dominating this market.

Thanks PhotoDune! Nice to see that 70% commission!

It's exciting to see that extra $1.11 in my account. Yes, I said it. I'm excited about $1.11. What . is wrong with me? I need help. Is this what microstock does to you!?

Is there a Microstocker Anonymous group out there somewhere?

Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock Q2 Profit Rises
« on: August 08, 2013, 10:02 »
It would be nice, but we'll never get a raise. You don't see Walmart or any other company saying "Hey, we made a big profit let's pay our suppliers more money."  I doubt many photographers offer to pay their models more because they sell more photos.  And make no mistake we are just considered suppliers.

But, if they keep growing revenue 40% yoy, I doubt we'll see a cut either. If revenue growth slows, look out.

If you want to benefit from sstk success, buy the stock.

Pizza and/or ice cream.

sort of like 'over clocking' the cpu's in the old days and telling folks that you have a 1 GHz when your chip is a 550 MHz

Good points. And digital will never replace film. The quality just sucks! No professional will ever use digital... ;)

Yuri, props for everything you've accomplished and congrats on your new deal. You're certainly overstating your impact on sstk stock price though. I think their earnings will continue to grow which will drive the stock higher in the long term.

I have to believe that mobile will have an impact on stock. If newspapers are firing photographers for iPhones it's just a matter of time. The question is how big the impact will be and how best to make money from it. You can bet that sstk and the other sites will try to offer their own mobile service soon. Or just buy scoopshot.
