I have used stock submitter under custom FTP and it works as long as you get the /photo (or whatever they call it) right

Have you researched the focus issues with the GH5, it seems to be a problem they can't get a handle on.....

Also meant to point out that they are finding out that all cameras don't overheat, and a recent firmware patch has made the overheating less of a problem.  if I usually shoot max 30 second clips, I don't think the overheating will be an issue for me.

I really like you you can use auto iso and set what is an acceptable range by setting both low and high values.  It has tons of setup features to control almost every aspect and now has in camera stabilization.

I shot video and travel stills with a GH4 for 1.5 years, but felt like the travel stills were lacking with the 4/3 sensor.  I recently upgraded to a A6500 which records video in 6K and saves final output at 4K and I think it is better than the GH4  with the 4/3 sensor.

The only issues with the Sony 6xxx series are it eats batteries, so you need to have many more than a panasonic or canon, and the screen is almost impossible to use in bright sunlight with a hood.

Time will tell.....

It will likely be an uphill battle due to sensor size and those big range zooms which are great for family outings, but not that great guality.

Photography Equipment / Re: 3rd party battery for NEX6
« on: January 17, 2017, 14:27 »
I didn't notice them loosing charge over the short term.  I hadn't used that body in over a year, so at that point they didn't have much charge left.  I like that small rangefinder body style for travel.

I may still purchase a new Sony body for 4K video and travel next year.  My GH4 does great for 4K video, but I like the APS C for photos, and the Sony body is much more compact.

I thought they said no refunds after the clip had been downloaded??

I used those Wasabi cheapies from Amazon for nearly 2 years without any problem.  They only last around 60% compared to the Sony.

Last month I decided to use my Nex on a trip on my primary job, and used a Anker PowerCore 10000 battery (made to charge cell phone batteries) to charge it via USB while I stopped for lunch

6300 has to touch screen to adjust focus points, but newly anounced 6500 has both a touch screen in in camera 5 axis stabilization, I would wait

They contacted video artists early on and offered to buy certain files for their library.  I don't know if they are still using that method, or are making some of their own now?

12
Video blocks has two portions one a subscription side where they own the rights to the videos and the other where artists can upload their videos and get paid nearly 100% (minus paypal fee) of the 49.00.  When you look at their site both the subscription and the artists videos are shown with an icon depicting which one is which.

I don't know about graphicstock

Bigstock.com / Re: account hacked ???

Luis got burned by using filezilla FTP program, he contacted big stock and they restored his account.  Filezilla data dumps were posted online with lots of usernames/passwords in them.  I stopped using filezilla after this incident.

Contact big stock through their website, they should be able to restore your acct.

I agree with Jo Ann, this is just a followup for those who didn't do as requested earlier this year.  I know I never got around to re-sending my ID, but a threat to suspend my account got my attention (especially with several video downloads to be paid out this next month)......

16
I thought they said they only allow refunds if the file had not been downloaded?

If you are only looking for money to buy a coffee now and then your smartphone may be OK.  If you are serious about trying to make some additional income then your smartphone isn't likely gonna get it done, and you are going to have to get on at Shutterstock.

You will likely need to upgrade to one of the cameras discussed in the thread below:

Some sites have mobile only sections and their may even be some mobile only sites, but I have never heard of anyone paying their rent, and other living expenses solely from pictures from a mobile phone.

General - Stock Video / Re: mp4 convert to quicktime mov
« on: July 02, 2015, 16:35 »
I just used MPEG Streamclip to convert a timelapse MP4 from my GH4 to photojpeg mov on my old slow laptop, and it works fine as expected.

I don't know why it won't work for you.

download streamclip for PC from
http://www.squared5.com/

From the following shutterstock forum post, skip the "infomercial" and do steps 1 - 4,  quality no higher than 92, and don't use motion JPEG (pond5 doesn't accept any more) I would use photojpeg version of mov.

Have you tried streamclip?

Just a thought, have you purchased a $40 husban mini copter, just to see if you can do it?  They don't exactly fly themselves, its true with GPS they will hover around in a small area, but you the pilot still have to avoid things like tree limbs and power lines.  I have flown RC for 25 years, and flying one around the yard is OK, but trying to fly while looking through video googles or looking at a monitor is something totally different.

I have a medium sized tricopter with a gopro and found that without a gyro stabilized camera mount, its not usuable.  I have purchased a stabilized gopro mount, but haven't finished installing it yet.  Some say that when it becomes licensed by the FAA, it will be for flying a much more expensive copter than the DJ quads.

Mine are there, and the only site portfolio size total that is similar is Fotolia.  There are 2 less images there than are on Fotolia.  Maybe just a coincidence??
