DepositPhotos / Re: W9 issues with Depositphoto
« on: December 27, 2022, 15:29 »
I believe that only applies to immigrants or other individuals who are not able to apply for a social security number. I do have an SSN, but I do not give that out and instead use my EIN for any business related stuff. I also use it on any tax returns as well.

But it seems the only way Depositphotos will allow me to use the EIN as an individual is if I provide letters of incorporation.... but you have to be incorporated to have letters of incorporation at which point you are no longer an individual?

DepositPhotos / W9 issues with Depositphoto
« on: December 27, 2022, 13:42 »
Anyone else having issues with them not accepting a W9 using a EIN? They are telling me that as an individual I am required to use my SSN on the w9, and the only way I can use an EIN as an individual/sole proprietor is if I have letters of incorporation.

I've never used a SSN for any of my business related tax documents, and not sure why they are requiring it all of a sudden now after processing previous payments under the EIN.

no responce from 123RF at this point

When I messaged support, all they said was that refunds can cause a negative balance but it should of been offset by now though they can't confirm. They will pass it on to IT though. That was a couple weeks ago and no updates yet. since then my balance has gone more negative and I haven't had any new refunds.

so never seen this one before, but I'm in the hole $13 to 123rf. no refunds, or anything except for in 2016 yet I somehow now owe them money?

You all ever experience this?

I've had to change my password 16 time today as everytime I login for some reason it triggers it as a suspicious login. Now when trying to reset my password for the 17th time today (serious 17th time) I now get the 406 message as well

Can confirm they do match and that they are not altered. Guess I did not need to redact that.

As far as using ongoing, various, or something like that I've never seen as an issue for self releases. Even iStock the company started the one release.for everyday is ok with using that as long as it is for a self release.

So I just submitted a batch of images that included a bunch of self shot images. Every single one of them get denied with the reason of invalid model release. Ok cool, I figured reviewer was just having a dumb moment, maybe the automated system had a electrical fart, maybe I didn't fill something out. Well first time that was the case. I missed something on the release and I'll take credit for that one. Fixed it resubmitted and... WAM same rejection.

what? double check everything and this time it's all filled out. so I email [email protected]

Here is the explanation I got as to why the image was rejected.

This is where I'm really confused though. attached is a copy of the release I sent them. Am I missing something here? Are they reading the rules to the letter and shutterstock releases are only mentioned under foreign releases that this is no longer valid lol. Did the support staff just not even look at the release and just flipped an answer at me?

Do you guys have any idea?

Dont think it's just the reviewers who might be idiots, but the support staff as well.

Just got a rejection for an invalid model release. When I asked why support their reply was my model release doesnt meet for their format requirements and therefore is not acceptable. I need to use a different release from their accepted list of companies they accept releases from.

I used the shutterstock release form....

Lol now what

Adobe Stock / Re: Good bye Adobe Stock from Venezuela.

Was in photoshop at one point one of the most pirated programs ever. I mean if they don't want to take your money anymore

Hopefully you should still be able to submit your images to SS, iStock and such instead

Microstock Audio / Re: Where to submit audio in 2019?

Sorry, I know this isn't an answer to your question but I'm curious. Is there a market in audio even and how expensive is it to break into it?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Video royalty's are worse then images
« on: August 22, 2019, 20:08 »
I'm not sure I understand this. Why do people send footage to Istock if those clips are sold for cents when you can sell those at the price point you think is fair at other sites. It is just beyond me.......

Because I didn't think they would sell video far below what the photo sales are making. I could see a couple here and there, but this so far is the average for me and I'm not sure if this is normal or just my luck.

I know with the images this happens and I get afew random sub single cent sales. For the most part though the sales are enough to make it worthwhile that I don't fret about the low ball figures.

overall Istock is still my second top earner right behind shutterstock. so I don't want to discount them all together. Just hoping this might be a weird moment due to a small portfolio

iStockPhoto.com / Video royalty's are worse then images
« on: August 21, 2019, 11:36 »
I'm not sure I understand this. Thought video was supposed to pay not only a higher percentage, but also that video clips paid higher in general as well.

so far in 15 sold clips my average royalty per sale is 16.7 cents. Of those 15 clips, 10 of them have sold for .005 cents per clip.

Less then half a cent for a video clip? WHAT?!?!?!

Alamy.com / Longest wait to get paid?
« on: March 05, 2019, 16:57 »
So far im waiting on some payments from back in october to clear. I know alamy tends to run a little slower then the other sites with getting funds to clear, but is this normal? Thought normally its only 30-90 days, not almost half a year.

General - Stock Video / Re: portolio size vs sales

Why? Don't video and still have a little carry over in that a shot setup for stills might also have use in video?

General - Stock Video / Re: portolio size vs sales

So sounds like video is a lot more temperamental then stills. Where do they even use these video clips? At least with stills I can see it but video?

General - Stock Video / portolio size vs sales
« on: August 26, 2018, 17:11 »
I know this is all variable depending upon quality, and demand for your clips. But around how large is your video portfolio and about how much does that earn you on average monthly?

Been doing stills for a while, but this video world is new and so I'm curious for those of you who have been doing it where do you start seeing consistant earnings?

Cutcaster / Re: anyone still upload?
« on: July 24, 2018, 12:17 »
lol, nevermind. That answered that when I was getting ready to at least try to upload a couple more and I now see they disabled their upload system.

oops

Cutcaster / anyone still upload?
« on: July 24, 2018, 12:15 »
Just noticed I only have 90 out of almost 3000 images on cutcaster, but hey I've made 2 sales.

Just curious are people still uploading and making money though? If it's a couple bucks a month it still might be worth it for me to upload.

I've been hearing about istock sounding it's death bell for years. Yet they are still within the top 3 microstock agencies month after month.

yeah istock sucks, yes their keywording thing is horrible, yes it seems like they should of died long ago.... but yes they still pay my bills and so I say learn to work around their system (deepmeta user myself and it's not that bad once you get started) and keep getting paid.

Getting images shot at 100 iso rejected for too much noise, and other images shot at f/9 at 35mm getting rejected for too shallow depth of field or out of focus.

I'm not sure what to think of this company
