I have a thai paypal and get paid in usd. I then opened a payoneer account with atm card. At same time they gave me Bank of america bank acc. and i nvr set foot in the US. Now i transfer my usd from thai paypal to BOM acc for no charge from paypal, and then take out thai currency with my payoneer atm card. The exchange rate on payoneer uses mastercard rates and is much better than paypals rates.

Interesting on this topic, I had the exact number of dlds two months in a row, two times, both december-january. I am talking of some hundreds number. EXACT NUMBER!!!

Funny you mentioned it. Just checked and excactly the same for me this year. Took a big dive after November by 30% and after that Jan-Apr excactly the same download number every month (1 month had 2 less). Not normal.....

Can someone explain to me how some contributors alledgedly only have been overpaid by less than 10$? It doesnt seem to fit into the the numbers and that it was indeed a problem with imagespacks and EL's being wrongly marked.... Sounds fishy to me.

Shutterstock.com / Re: How are sales going?- Shutterstock
« on: March 12, 2014, 23:25 »

I am newbie at micro. I have 120 images at Shutterstock. Three month ago I added 100 images and now my income is about 30.- USD per month for 120 images.
Of course these first 20 images I added several years ago are "dead images" already. Nobody can see them today. I am on lowest royalty level, it is 25 cents. I see some 1,88 USD sales per image too.
Sales are same for three month. Pretty stable.

Several of the images from my first batch 3 years ago are still my best sellers today, despite age and rise in commision level. They actually sell much better than anything new I've uploaded in 2013.

Stocksy best as usual, about 4 x times more than SS with the same number of images. Getty about 3 x times more than SS income, with 6 times less images online.

Feels good to see the subscription sites fall waaaay behind and actually get paid real money for my work. Overall BME!

My underwater stuff sells best on the micros, but not really anywhere else including symbiostock:

Dont think your reviewers got the memo.....

With close to 100.000 Contributors (over 95.000 currently) in the Flickr/Getty-program the party is pretty much over. In average files do better now in microstock exceptions are still possible but most selects are Flickr Open now which means they will put your files on Thinkstock.
Really? My RPI on flickr/Getty is around $2, on SS its 0,36$....i stopped uploading to SS after joining the flickr/getty... 90% of my files are on Getty RF, rest RM, I reject files wanted for flickr Open.

Like any of these photos would ever get accepted.....riteeeee

If you submit as illustrative editorial, you cant have a newsworthy caption, it needs to describe the contents of the image. If its regular editorial, it can only be a newsworthy caption.

Guess ill have to look at whats accepted to get a clue...

SS support was very helpful:

Thank you for contacting us.

Shutterstock has a new editorial guidelines. You may find this link helpful.

Are you viewing on a retina display? I got a retina MBP and suddenly all photos on the sites looked bad. If so try changing display to scaled "more space", then everything looks nice and crisp sharp again.

14
Wish they would be a bit more specific in their rejections, especially with new guidelines. Its all guesswork now. I have lots of editorials on SS and never had any rejected for any reason before.

in stead of

BANGKOK, THAILAND DECEMBER 19, 2013: Asian man walking up the stairs to Siam Square BTS station talking in mobile phone.

So what you are saying is that the example from SS website is wrong?

"KIEV, UKRAINE OCTOBER 06, 2011: Photo of a Apple iPad device, showing the apple.com homepage featuring the image of Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Computer, who died at age 56. Processed in B&W."

16
I'm not sure if they want the comma after the date, although I haven't submitted any editorial under the new policies.  It doesn't sound very newsworthy either but there probably is a separate rejection for that.
Illustrative editorial is not supposed to be newsworty...

I have loads of similar editorials on different topics with single people on SS where this was no issue.

Besides, the rejection was for not following the guidelines.....

17
I just got my first rejection for not following editorial guidelines.

Can someone please tell me what is wrong with this caption:

If you want categories make them smart categories based on key words instead like Stocksy.

Seems a huge part of the collection is coming from various agencies like Aurora, Nat geo etc. (if you look at the list of contributors)
