"Circa" is acceptable for photos captured decades ago. Especially photographed on film where the is no automatic timestamp embedded in the file.
"Circa 2023"... In what hypothesis you took a picture this year and you do not know the exact date?

General Stock Discussion / Re: NFTs and License Terms
« on: February 04, 2022, 03:41 »
I made a collection on Opensea last month too.
It is completely free if you use Polygon network. Images are going to be minted as NFTs only if and when someone buys them.
My conclusion: it does not matter what you offer/sell. It matters who you are. Pretty much the opposite of stock. You have to have Twitter account with many followers already established. And I don't. And do not want to start one.
When I uploaded my images they were immediately lost in the void of radnom other images uploaded every second. And when I say "random" I do not mean it in terms of "stock photography" random. Everybody can upload everything. No limits, no reviews.

I've spent the day uploading a few images to opensea to see what I could see. I'll report back if there's any interest. I imagine without some kind of well targeted social media campaign there's little point, but you never know.

Hello, fotoVoyager,
I see you have 6 collections for sale.
How many transaction fees in ETH did you pay for the process and how much in total?
I am willing to give it a try but I am still researching the whole thing. Unfortunately most of the people say you have to be active (mostly on Twitter... and I do now have one) and you have to do the marketing, which is way different compared with stock sites.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Can we sell as NFTs our stock images that have been sold already many times on stocks sites?
Isn't the idea that when someone buys a NFT that the image is exclusive and never used before?
Thanks!

General Stock Discussion / Re: Checking in - Adobe Stock Video
« on: January 31, 2020, 12:44 »
I have all kinds of "editorial only" images and videos and they sell well.
I do not understand why Adobe is not accepting editorial the same way another agencies do.
Years ago Istock removed news and events content and stoped accepting it. They didn't want to cannibalize their Getty library.
Adobe removed and stopped accepting some events contend I had credentials for. Why?! Is it because of petential lawsuit? Why other agencies accept and sell the same content without any problems?

Hello,
Any experience with EyeEm and 500px? Time ago I discarded them because of lack of watermark, EyeEm did not read IPTC and I think something with exclusivity when sent to Getty... I see 500px still has no watermark. So...
Do those sites read IPTC?
In what case do they require exclusivity?
Do they accept editorial?
Thank you in advance!

General Stock Discussion / Leaving a Will/Testament
« on: December 28, 2019, 12:41 »
Hello,
Reading this forum it looks like if an artist wants to leave his/her accounts (rights to images, footage, etc.) to a successor he/she needs to make a will/testament in advance. Just a death certificate would not be enought for a relative to be in possession.
Does anybody have any experience with that matter? What should a contricutor do? Just go to a notary?
If somebody has a sample document to show I'd be grateful!

Adobe Stock / Re: Editorial Video in Adobe?

Both videos and images. Both news and just unreleased. About 20%-30% of my portfolio.

I earn 10% more at Depositphotos compared to Dremastime. Low earners for video though.
I removed all my videos from iStock some time ago. Emotional and logical decision - very happy with it!
I am not at Videohive and Motion Elements. Does it worth the time? Last time I checked at Videohive the uploading process was an nightmare.

Hello,
I and a contributor in all popular stock sites.
Would you tell me where can I buy a single audio file? Preferably with my stock earning in the site or PayPal? Debit card is also an option.
Thank you!

Hello,
I am a photographer and videographer but I know almost nothing about illustrations. I will be greatful if you tell me how to start. First I will make some rasterizations of my pictures but I'd like to know the best workflow regarding Adobe Illustrator and agencies: which kind of file to save so every/most of the agencies accept it? What resolution/size to set and so on?
For example I know that if I use Photo-JPEG, 1920x1080 and 24 fps for footage file it will be accepted everywhere.
This kind of information I need about illustrations.
Thank you in advance!

Bigstock.com / Re: Editorial
« on: June 24, 2018, 01:23 »
The "editorial" bug is for months now. And the "batch edit" bug where the system overwrites the IPTC data from one file to all of the others is present for more than an year. So I am not hopeful that they are working on in. Looks like it is an legacy software/system.
But if see a fix, please write here :)

I tried with one clip but the uploading process seems very time consuming. It looks like I need to enter manually all of those things for every clip. Is that true?

How about 360 images? Do they sell at the same price as ordinary photos? Anybody uploading?

P.S.: I do not want to start a new threat just for that question.

What happened with the number of characters in the description? Where can I see them?

I miss 2 things that were available in the previous version:
1) column with description characters;
2) editorial click - so date, month and year appears automatically.
Thank you!
Thanks for the suggestions. A few questions:

1) Just to make sure: you mean a counter that shows the number of characters you currently have in the description?
2) Where do you want the date, month and year to appear? In the description field? (which now also acts as caption field)?
It's no longer required to put the date there, the separate "Date created" field is enough, and that should be filled in automatically from the IPTC data.

Let me know if I misunderstood anything and thanks again for chiming in with your suggestions!

Yes, I was able to see how many characters I have in the description after I write it down.
About the date - I dod not know it is not required anymore. But for editorial images I think it should be in the description. All the big news agancies do it like that.
Thank you for youe effords.

How about the old big space for keywords, so we can see them all at once?
Now is very difficult and time consuming.
Thank you!

I got the email too. They didn't say "exciting news" but, oh, boy, I was so excited!
Just out of curiosity - if you put your editorials on Getty, aren't they supposed to be exclusive there?

I wrote to them and they sent me a tax form to fill in

After you filled the for where did you send it? By mail to Germany or by e-mail?
