Hi,

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was hoping.

The images would be purely to show in my website portfolio as images that I have worked on and I would seek permission from the photographer and credit them too.

If anyone else can confirm this too it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,

I have been a photo retoucher for the last 12 years working for a number of Getty Images photographers as well as various other photographers and projects.

I'm wanting to set up a website to show my portfolio online.

My question is...

Would I be ok to use some of stock images that I have retouched over the years to show in my portfolio online?

Of course I would ask the photographers before using any but I just wondered if anyone here would know about this and if there would be a copyright issue with Getty?

Thanks in advance

Well I got a grand total of 9 cents for that sale! Happy days  :-\

Hi,

I am an istock non exclusive contributor and on checking my downloads within ESP it seems as though 2 of my images have been downloaded via Getty images. (see attached image)

I just wondered if this is normal as it was my understanding that only exclusive istock contributors had the chance to sell their images through Getty...?

Thanks

Stocksy / Re: Call To Artists is Open!

Hi,

I just wanted to check that I understood correctly... Is it ok to apply with images that are already accepted at other sites (shutterstock/istock/Adobe) so long as they are removed if accepted at Stocksy?

Also, how does one go about deactivating images from istock if successful? I think you can remove images from shutterstock and Adobe manually in your account but I wasn't sure if this was the case for istock...?

Thanks

I'd be happy with that personally!

Although I do only have about 135 images online so far....

Just out of curiosity what do people consider as good money from stock these days...?

I'm fairly new so i'm aiming for 3 figures per month as a target for the moment (still a way off that so far! :P)

Thanks for the replies,

I have worked as a retoucher for various Getty photographers over the years and always sort of seen Getty as the one for me to aim for.

I've only actually been shooting and uploading fairly recently to istock, shutterstock and Fotolia and just trying to weigh up the pros and cons of going exclusive with istock with the potential of selling images through Getty in the future...

I'm still a way off at the moment and need to build my portfolio but just thinking ahead... :)

All info and experience from you guys is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,

I just wondered if anyone had any experience of moving from istock to Getty or selling images on both.

Am I right in thinking the options are to:

1 - make an application direct to Getty with examples of your work

2- Go exclusive with istock so that images go into the Signiture collection which can then potentially be sold on Getty...?

Thanks in advance!

Caleb

Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate it!
Definitely helps to get a bit of actual feedback, the only feedback you get from the image libraries is if they sell or not...
I've got some bits that I have shot recently and eager to get them up online!
Fingers crossed i'll get some sales too!  :)

I'm aiming to get get more work uploaded soon too.

Any thoughts would be great anyway :)
