General Stock Discussion / Re: adobestock keywords?
« on: February 13, 2019, 14:16 »
I'm waiting for Lightroom to have the option of being able to view keywords as either 1) alphabetical sort or 2) hierarchical sort. Of course, it would have to work with the Adobe plug in, too, and populate in fields accordingly. That would be a great option--Hint. Hint.

iView Media Pro had all these features 25 years ago!!!

I agree with that

To locate fast some particular images I put an "*" or 2 or 3 or 4 in the field "copy name" that is generally blank
Of course you can write anything you want there, like "plainpicture/accepted" for example.
Then I use the text research, in this specific field, to find the images having these *
Not very simple, but it offers some interesting possibilities.

Interesting.
Thank you.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Black and white Images
« on: August 10, 2017, 12:57 »

I confirm to have the same kind of experience. But not a lot on Fotolia (probably because they have the idea that red tomatoes isolated on white sell better, and they accept them easier than a good b/w image)

I would like to state for the record that we will also accept photos of tomatoes that are not isolated on white. ;)

I would also like to mention that my comments above were simply my opinion. We will accept some black and white content but as a contributor you should ensure that black and white provides the best value for customers. Many contributors confuse what works well as fine art with what works well as stock. I'm not saying you are personally, but a more general statement. Do what works best for you of course.

lol, excellent!

Generating jpg from eps usually give poor preview result. and what about the the meta-tags how will they be fetched?
Do we only need to upload EPS to the system or EPS + JPG?
If it is better now, I also think that it was better before

As it is not possible to put title, description and keywords in an EPS file I am afraid that we will have to use the copy and paste What a great improvement!!

This is no problem, if you prefer you can still upload vectors the old way in the zipped folders. The unzipped upload is an additional option, not a mandatory one.

Oh that's good, Mat!
So, if I have understood well it will also work on the Adobe side, not only on the Fotolia side.

One year ago there was a lot of rejections on Shutterstock, a lot without even valid reasons.

Today they accept almost anything.
They reject if you have not a release when it is necessary, that's all.
I remember tha there was a similar situation vith iStock 2 or 3 years ago.

Reaching 200,000,000 is the only thing that seems to matter to Shutterstock now

Some money is better than no money. :-(
$ 0.00077 is probably less than half of the cost of a click with your mouse

I keep nothing on my Mac SSD, only the applications and the related files.

All other files are on external HDDs.
My photos are on 2 HDDs, exact copy one of the other (I use Data Backup one time a week), the first connected to the Mac the second kept in a safe place.
The files not already backed-up are on the cloud. Once the file are backed-up on the second HDD I delete them from the cloud.

I also use an external HDD to backup the full Mac with TimeMachine once a month.

They're allowed to post videos on how to break the law?  That can't possibly be legal, can it?  Couldn't we start a class-action lawsuit against the poster for lost revenue?

The people to be angry with are Shutterstock who do nothing to plug the holes in the system and aren't taking action with regards to DMCAs and facebook/ Youtube.

It is outrageous that they are 1. so incompetent with regards to making a system that has these holes and 2. care so little about creator's intellectual property once the holes come to light.

Shutterstock cares of Shutterstock - period. :(
