Shutterstock.com / Upside down picture/footage
« on: November 20, 2017, 11:17 »
Hi guys,

recent i face a issue with Upside down picture / footage on the screen. somethings i will use iphone to capture 4k. it's ok to download it from iphone and the video for example looks like normal, but when i update onto shutterstock, it Upside down. I don't know how to deal with it. I know in my laptop's viewer, it will automatically rotate the video, so i don't need to change it a lot. How to avoid the Upside down situation or how to modified the Upside down video which i had already uploaded?

Alamy.com / how to submit footage/video to alamy?
« on: October 27, 2017, 22:26 »
Hi guys,

I am new to Alamy but recent face a issue. I could use stock submitter to upload footage onto alamy, but i can't find it anywhere. Also i can't find a "footage manager" like place which i could manage all the footage i uploaded. Does anyone know if alamy currently still accept footage?

Actually besides the subject what i really would like to ask is, how many effort you will spend on your photo/video/illustration? either shooting, editing or drawing?

I am most of time a photographer on landscape, press button is a quite easy thing compare to other kind of task like you spend couple of hours to draw something on computer. But i know if i would like to give great picture/photos, work is far more than that, like to plan/design the scene, edit the photos afterwards. it really time consuming. I think video edit and illustration even much longer.

But we are in the microstock world (no consider macrostock so far), which mean the benefit of one pictures could only bring me very limited, which doesn't attract me to be a professional photographer and live with that. So each of my photo will only bring me very limited (without deeply edit).

I know some photographer will put a lot of energy on some single photos and also it will bring much benefit, but how much? is that worth to also give your a lot of extra time to work on it.

it's great to share your opinion.

Mostphotos.com / free hugs
« on: September 20, 2017, 21:58 »
I am quite new with mostphotos but not new to other agency. After i uploaded many pictures there, i got a lot of free hugs (likes!) but no sales at all. Could anybody tell me that what kind of mostphotos look like? Except likes what can i get from there?

maybe 100 likes = 1$?

CanStockPhoto.com / canstock is so strict on their photos review!
« on: September 08, 2017, 02:25 »
Hi guys,

I joined canstock several years ago as well as other agency. I quit for couple of years and recently i am back to microstock world. I get quite high high high acceptance rate on istock (of course they accept anything now) etc. and half half on some others like fotolia. but it quite surprise me that in canstock, only in canstock i have a extremely low accept rate, which is lower to 0!
since per day i could only submit 25 photos using webpage and usually i got 0 accepted and 25 denied! of course the reason are various but i am quite shock why canstock is now so strict on the review of pictures.

Are they going to not accept anything in the near future?

General Stock Discussion / The Title/description of photos
« on: August 06, 2017, 20:41 »
Guys i just wonder a question, if there is some words exist in my photo's title but somehow it was not included in the keywords area, is that possible for buyer to find the photo through this word? :)

It's a bad thing. A lot of their accepted images over the past couple of years are shockingly bad. So are a lot of the earnings nowadays, but the low-payers don't get to see only the poor files.
That was an incredible achievement getting 7 files rejected, unless for needing releases.

i agree and i also treat this as a very bad thing.
i don't know if there is big difference between ss and is on the aspect of incoming, but so far i think the incoming from is (not exclusive) is far behind even with some middle tier or low tier agency. Even they get a lots of photos on their website, how they could not control the quality of those photos? i means, as long as they reach the number they want, what next? delete pro-folio and kick out some photographer?

I just leave IS two years ago and come back recently. Which quite shock me is the approval of photo is quick... actually quicker than i think, or expected. Anytime, i submit those photos for reviewing, average 1 mins they approve my photos and the acceptance current i got is 93%! around 100 photos.

That's impossible compare to two year before and even make me think a robot is approving my photos.

So, what's going on here? is this a good thing or a quite bad thing.
Previously i treat IS as the highest quality and most difficulty one, even than SS and fotolia, but now it quite like small agency and accept anything...
