As a photographer I was impressed by the wonderful polish people that are helping privately thousands and thousands of ukrainian refugees.
I have created a fundrising to support those helpful people.
Thanks for supporting and sorry for the off-topic, but the situation here is really hard!

General Stock Discussion / Re: Selling mobile pictures
« on: March 10, 2017, 05:23 »
Its a complete waste of time for me

Entering now in the microstock market means that you have to work hard for hours and hours each day in order to produce high quality pictures....and gain few dollars each day.

For this reason selling pictures TODAY is a complete loss of time! Only agencies are making big money since they have gathered during the years millions and millions of pictures.
Better to concentrate yourself in other activities where you can earn a decent amount of money.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Microstocker Burnout Syndrom
« on: November 28, 2016, 18:17 »
For me burn out arrived 3 years after the beginning. I've spent a lot of money in equiments, travelling, etc...and was not worth the money to continue for 0,20/0,25 cent per image.

I've stopped shooting for micro and now I'm just shooting for the pleasure to do it without the stress of uploading on agencies. I prefer now to upload to my personal site and enjoy the pleasure of photography.

Newbie Discussion / Re: How long until I make sales?
« on: November 18, 2016, 06:44 »
Consider that the Stock Photography market is overcrowded now. This means that a contributor will gain just few dollars/month with thousands and thousands of images published in different agencies.

If you are looking for a decent revenue it's better to give up and start an other activity. Just focus yourself on the satisfaction to shoot nice images :-)

I also don't use these services since direct uploading is more reliable...

I agree...nice discussion!

I would stay both in the agency and in the Direct-Sell business as they are not conflicting themselves.
Your own site cannot compete of course with the SEO gunfire of the agencies.
I use mainly my site to adress sales coming from people around my world, since transactions are 100% safe (made through paypal). Spreading the word and making personal marketing is essential to get some sales

16
Well, at the very beginning sales were poor, but with a good SEO and spreading around the word among friends and photographers are going better and better every day.
People that want my art now simply buy through my site.
Also transactions are 100% safe for my customers as the payments are made via paypal.

I'm using Symbiostock, an open source platform. It's easy to customise and the result is excellent. Also transactions are 100% safe for your customers as the payments are made via paypal.

For example I have developed my personal site using this technology. Check out my site at

Have a nice job!

Open a personal site to sell your pictures then! You will have more chances to sell some of your arts, and you can combine it to the delivery via editorial/stock agencies.
You could use Symbiostock, an open source platform. It's easy to customise and the result is excellent. Also transactions are 100% safe for your customers as the payments are made via paypal.

At the beginning (2 years ago) sales were very few....now I have reached a good number per month.
Anyway I  have made a lot of SEO and advertising through my professional contacts...
