I wish Fotolia and Istock did the same Categories are plain horrible there.
+1 It takes up time and buyers rarely use them or agencies could retrieve categories out of keywords...

By default, all Fotolia content is opted in for sale at the Dollar Photo Club (DPC), but sales there do not count towards your Fotolia level. The contributor receives a subscription royalty (according to level) on each sale.
The part about "DPC sales not counting towards the Fotolia ranking level is not true.
One DPC sales counts like a regular sub sale at Fotolia (1/4).
"...is not true." .... - harsh word - you could say : "... it is not correct."
Call it as you like. I just wanted to say that if you reach out to other photographers you should stick to the facts, because otherwise it looks strange.

Is there some reasone warez people would want photos removed from DPC? I don't understand why anyone would support warez and be bothered about DPC. Perhaps someone can explain what all this means.
I can only guess but I assume they were afraid that the DPC would ruin their planned "giving images away at warez sites" business scheme.

I am confused why suddenly the site shows different projects that are related to stockalliance.org.
In the Google cache I found that in March 2014 there have been three big illegal WAREZ sites involved, see screenshot attached:

Benefits for Fotolia [...] Increase margins by effectively reducing commissions to contributors
That's not true compared to the subscription model of Fotolia. They would earn more with their subs programm or "mini subs" model than with the DPC if it comes to high volume buyers.

Boycottfotolia.org maintained by 2 people. First of it - coordinator, also known as Frbird from microstock.ru forum. He's Fotolia contributor off course.
Okay, thanks for the info. I was not aware that Frbird from vectorlib is behind the site.

What is your opinion on the situation, are you worried about your income now?
Of course I am worried about my income, then, on the other hand, I am always worried about my income regarding microstock, because it is such a fast-paced business. You can be sure that I very closely monitor my numbers regarding FT and DPC and other agencies. However, pulling my images from Fotolia would not make much sense for me, because then I would loose several thousand dollar a month.

If it is true what he said, I doubt it. DISCLAIMER 2: All my participation in boycottfotolia.org project, including creating and maintaining a website, and also writing of the original version of the petition is voluntary and gratuitous. I'm not a microstocker. I'm independent of microstock business and I'm not affiliated with any photobank, microstock or any other organization that competes with fotolia.com or represents the interests of of third-parties competing with fotolia.com. I don't receive any material or other benefits in any form from this project or its participants and any third-party organizations. In my work I represent the interests of my friends microstockers and all these people, who cast their votes in support of petition.
Bold part by me. So why do you think he is a microstock photographer?

His motivation is the same as each other petition signer's motivation: we wish to save the industry and make sure our future as microstock contributors is bright and promising.
In an earlier post he claimed that he has no microstock affiliation whatsoever, so I find it a bit strange to organize such a boycott, when he is totally unrelated to the industry.

@fotoramka: Who are you?
And who is the "we" you are mentioning in your posts?
I'm boycottfotolia.org developer. It's translated text of my open letter to microstockers which was published on Rissian-speaking forums. What do you mean about "we"?
I mean who is (you) the person that develops the boycott-site. I am still trying to understand your motivation and who the friends are you mentioned.

I filed a DMCA for two of my files now. I also informed Fotolia, maybe they can close down the account faster.
The pity is the guy shows only one example images and we cannot see the other images he is selling too.
By the way: Fiverr should really make their DMCA form much more user friendly. It's a p*** in the a** to fill out all the stuff.

Thanks Luis for letting mw know.
The *insult removed* stole some of my images too.
Source seems to be Fotolia, since some of the images I uploaded exclusivly there.

Here is the reply I got:
Hello,
Our API re-sellers re-sell images not only by subscriptions but by credits as well. Your royalty rate is fixed and depends whether our API re-sellers purchased your files by credits or by subscriptions directly on depositphotos.com. Once your file is sold by credits, you will get your commissions that you usually receive when your files are sold by credits, depending on your contributor's level. So the point is that our partners re-sell your portfolio by credits as well throughout the world. Regardless the way your files are sold on our partner sites, Depositphotos remains your main source of revenue. Your portfolio will be removed from our partner programs and API re-seller sites as soon as possible. Should you have any further questions or require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
This is what Orwell created the word "Doubletalk" for. They never answer why somebody can sell files via credits, but only needs to payout a subscription for it... I have not heard a reasonable explaination either from Shotshop or Depositphotos...

I cant find my files anymore on shotshop.
Thats interesting! So they removed them without you asking them to? That would mean they probably received so many emails / bad feedback that they cancelled the Shotshop API for everybody!??
Unfortunately that seems not to be the case. I just did a quick search and still found many files with only digits as file numbers (in contrast to the original Shotshop files with numbers and letters as file names): http://www.shotshop.com/search/26901455So the API is generally still intact.

Now just images other agencies might do this as well: Maybe Getty Images does similar stuff with Thinkstock and photos.com?

As DP suggested, I've already opted out of PP and re-sellers... So I sell only with DP, directly. Does it make any difference if I deactivate all my images from DP? They will loose enought much with deactivating from PP and re-s. Or I'm missing something?
...and it might just be a matter of time untile Depositphotos decides that there are no "opt-outs" possible...
