Off Topic / Whitechild became Dreamframer
« on: May 26, 2010, 14:22 »
Hi everyone,
I am just informing you that I had to change my username from Whitechild to Dreamframer, because I had comments from 3 people that my username sounds kinda racist.
I would like to explain what my username means, and then I will change it anyway.
When I was a kid I was blond, and my older brother always had dark hair. That's why older people (neighbors mostly) used to call me "white child", or "white kid".
I have never divide people by any means, including skin color, and I didn't even think someone will ever connect my username with racism. But it seems that Americans still have problem with this.
Most musicians I love to listen are black. I was always amazed by black people's musical talent, which is even more noticable in my case since I sing and compose.
So, I had to change my username, and I came up with Dreamframer.

PicNiche Toolbar / Strange pichniche report
« on: May 17, 2010, 14:50 »
I got this today reported by pichniche:

Approvals at Shutterstock 398 to 401

and then, about an hour later:

Approvals at Shutterstock 401 to 398

I didn't restarted computer or firefox in the mean time.
Anyone had similar experience?

I checked my SS port and
i have 398 approved files, although, I don't remember how many I had this morning.

iStockPhoto.com / Strange TinEye result
« on: May 17, 2010, 05:59 »
TinEye found one of my images on Getty, and I don't have an account there. This is the result that TinEye returned:
http://www.tineye.com/search/fffd888a447bd88b9d8c513ea23c5824e936d117

And when I opened Getty page, it says: "We're sorry. Item 96981413 is no longer available"

This is the Getty page that contained my image: http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/96981413

So, now I wonder what this means? Does it mean that someone was selling my image on Getty, or what?

Adobe Stock / Is location important?
« on: May 16, 2010, 10:42 »
I was blind enough no to see that image submission process at FT asks for "location" of the taken photo. So, I was always leaving "Serbia" instead of changing it accordingly with the location where the photo was taken.
Is it important to buyers or they don't pay much attention to it?
BTW, it would be nice if we could edit some data after submission.

iStockPhoto.com / Istockphoto Hot Shots
« on: May 14, 2010, 13:12 »
Take a look at IS top 8 images called "Istockphoto Hot Shots"  http://links.mkt2173.com/servlet/MailView?ms=Mjk2MTIxNgS2&r=NTMwMTQ2NzgzNAS2&j=MTc4MDMwNjczS0&mt=1&rt=0

Honestly, I never had courage to process image to this level because I always thought IS will reject them. Maybe I should try my self out. Really nice images...some of them especially.

Off Topic / Help with image browsing software
« on: April 27, 2010, 12:21 »
Guys, maybe it's a dumb question, but is there any image browser that instantly shows the size of images in megapixels? I mean, I would like something that won't show 3267x2432, but 7.94 Mpix

Off Topic / To share with you...
« on: April 25, 2010, 16:07 »
Today, on my birthday, I want to share with you the video I made with my point and shot camera three years ago. You can see me at 42 secs, 1:48 and in the end of the video, and my son at 1:02(he was 4 yo). BTW, I just noticed I wrote "tnanx" instead of "thanx" in the end of a video. :D I know both are incorrect tho.

Off Topic / My first 2 tracks accepted at PumpAudio
« on: April 21, 2010, 17:19 »
My first two audio tracks are accepted at PumpAudio. I sent the CD in December and tracks were reviewed and accepted today. One track is instrumental, and another has two versions, vocal and instrumental. They wrote me an email saying that tracks are sent to classification and categorization process. :)
Denis (goldenangel) wrote lyrics for the vocal version of the song No2 on my CD. :)
I'm so happy because my audio files sell fine on IS, and now I have my first RM tracks. I was in love with music as long as I remember, and this is like a dream come true for me, so I wanted to share the moment with you guys.

I can't login to 123RF. It doesn't give me any error. It just returns me back to login page. Is it just me, or anyone else has the same problem?

So, I joined www.aquarius.net, the website who connects people who need translations, and people who translate. I was contacted by Mrs. Elvira Ruiz (this is her profile on aquarius http://aquarius.net/expert/54058/) and I translated several documents from Russian and Croatian to English language. The policy of her company www.devinportglobal.com is to pay through paypal 30 days after receipt of translation. She was very polite and we exchanged several emails, but after 40 days of not being paid, I started to call her on the phone. Automatic voice machine is the only thing one can reach there. Then I saw the company already received one bad review on aquarius.
I decided to try tineye, and to check if her profile image is real, and this is what I discovered. The image is fake. It's Yuri Arcurs image:

I was stupid enough not to check it 40 days ago... Should I report this to IS?

64
Ok, I uploaded 6 images.

Shutterstock accepted 5 and rejected 1 image for poor quality, and Fotolia rejected the same 5 that Shutterstock accepted and accepted the same 1 image Shutterstock rejected, again for poor quality.

I know reviewers are human beings, but.... it seems some standards should be reviewed first. :)

iStockPhoto.com / Strange rejection due to deleted keywords...
« on: February 11, 2010, 20:12 »
Hi guys,
I got 2 images rejected at IS due to keywords. But, what is strange is that those words weren't in tags. My workflow is:
1. Keywording image in image editing program
2. Loading image into DeepMeta
3. Correcting keywords and deleting inappropriate keywords
4. Uploading images to IS

Now, even tho I deleted some keywords in DeepMeta I got images rejected exactly because of this keywords... When I open rejected image on IS I can't see problematic words, and when I check the image in DeepMeta there is no these problematic words. But they exist in original IPTC data of the image.
Is it somehow possible that words from IPTC pass DeepMeta even tho they are erased, don't appear on IS website, but appear at reviewers workstation and cause rejection of the image??

Regards,
Ivan

Shutterstock.com / Problem with withheld earnings on SS
« on: November 07, 2009, 04:32 »
Hi everybody,
I don't know if you will understand what I'm trying to explain, because of my English, but I will try anyway.
It happened that I have $4,27 payment withheld in my account, and it still counts as my earnings. So, since I reached the payment at the very end of the last month (my payment is set to $100) I didn't get any email that my payment is in the process. So, maybe, I see that I reached payment of $100, but SS deducted those $4,27 from my earnings and I actually didn't reach the payment of $100.
If so, what will happen with the withheld payment in future? If it counts in my earnings, it will get bigger every month, and in several months when it gets to $40-$50 I will start to reach payment every few weeks, but I will start getting less and less money as withheld money grows.
Or, if it doesn't counts in my earnings, where is shown that SS deducted it from my earnings??

Ivan

Mostphotos.com / Watermarks disabled on Mostphotos!
« on: September 06, 2009, 05:00 »
Guys, check your settings on Mostphotos and see if you have enabled watermarks. I had enabled watermark, but now after upgrading to new version this option was disabled, so my images were without watermark. I noticed there are several users with the same problem.

To enable watermark go to Settings, then again fing "settings" link on the left in the menu, click it, then click "watermark" link, click "enable" button to become green, and finally click button "Spara" which means "Save".

Regards,
Ivan

Off Topic / One song for you guys
« on: August 22, 2009, 19:16 »
I'd like to share this song with you guys. The song is in some kind of arabian-hebrew-mediterrannean style no matter Armenia and Serbia are orthodox christian countries (basically), and maybe some of you won't like it because it sounds too oriental, but something in this melody really touches my soul and make me weak in some way, and they sing it beautifully.... The music is written by this young Israeli singer Boaz Mauda. The girl who sings first is Serbian singer Jelena Tomasevic, and other girl is Sirusho from Armenia. Lyrics are written by Israeli president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Shimon Peres.
This is the first performance of the song, and here I found lyrics for you.

Time to pray

Jelena Tomasevic:
O my Lord, its time to pray
When a new sun shines, make hay
Save my land from deserts day
Call the oceans, salt to melt away

Sirusho:
Pray blue sky
Pray flower in the field
To make the pain go away
And let the child smile carelessly

Boaz Mauda:
Wake up, come to our homes
Like eagles we spread our hands
Filled with nightingales and all that is good

Sirusho:
Smile little child

Oh My Lord, its time to pray,
When the new sun shines, make hay,
Save my land from deserts day
Call the oceans, salt to melt away

Jelena Tomasevic:
For us, my heart prays,
To grant us peace and to guide us

Sirusho:
Our Lord, we are praying
Clean our souls from the merciless evil

Boaz Mauda:
Wake up, come to our homes
Like eagles we spread our hands

Sirusho:
Our Lord, we are praying
Clean our souls from the merciless evil

Jelena Tomasevic:
Pure heart prays to God
To grant us peace and to guide us
Look at us, save us
Make all the pain go away

Sirusho:
Save my land from deserts day
Call the ocean, salt to melt away

Boaz Mauda:
How pretty the olive trees have become
Like perfumes, the house is wrapped
Daughter of the generous, with beautifull eyes
And Ill sing to you out loud

Bigstock.com / 50% on BigStock
« on: August 10, 2009, 03:30 »
My friend spent $15 on buying images from me on BigStock. He thought I will get 50% ($7,5) from it, but I earned only $5.
Does BigStock still give us 50% of our sales, or not anymore?
