Just saw this on SX. Not 15 minutes ago I opted out of the deal on IS because I thought it would be stupid to have the same images going to Photos.com and JIUnlimited . Back to the drawing board.
As we phase out Stockxpert images on Photos.com and JIUnlimited, the plan is to introduce images to Photos.com and JIUnlimited from the iStockphoto collection.

Your ad on this site is incorrect. Not Comission but Commission unless I'm missing something.

I want to do some model shooting in the rain. I have a 5DII which does not have the great seals of 1D series. I want to be able to move around freely but not damage my rig. Any suggestions?

Got an Intuos 4 for my birthday. Just getting it sorted out for the different applications but I do find it a real treat to use.

I just requested termination of my account. I must say it feels good. Should have done it after the last commission decrease.

Is anyone placing images exclusive to DT? Does it seem worthwhile?

Brian,
Should we continue uploading to SV? Assuming we are currently accepted to VMP will the new uploads to SV get transfered over?

Normally I wouldn't put these images up for sale in an RF market because of the lack of model releases. They are pure silhouettes and am wondering what others would do. If they were your images would you offer them for sale on micro?

I guess everyone who has recently signed on to iStock exclusivity is kicking themselves in the backside for missing the opportunity to sign on exclusive with Fotolia (Drip of sarcasm here). I just got my email from FT explaining all the wonderful benefits of Total Exclusivity (Another drip). This would not be unlike Schwartzy in Total Recall, "they stole my mind and now I want it back". You'd have to be in this situation to sign on, IMHO. You could hang around while they play spin-the-bottle with percentages and rankings. "gosh, that's too high, lets spin again, oh that's better, send out another notice. Time to reduce commissions again."

I get paid through PayPal and see that there are no charges for receiving money or transferring it to my bank. I use a corporate account. Plus, what really surprises me, is the exchange rate is as good as a charter bank gives. No complaints obviously. Now when I sell something on eBay I get dinged a service charge to receive money. This is a personal account. Is this the same for you people who get paid into a personal account from micros? ie no charges.

I had a request for an additional format , a RAW file in this case from a buyer. What gives here? Is there extra money in it or are they looking to manipulate the image further? There's an option to ignore the request which is what I will do. A buck doesn't allow for much in the way of extra customer service.

It's the 28th. Has the new algorithm kicked in? Was it supposed to happen in January?

Are the model and property release for video the same as for stills? Anything special that needs to be done or said to a release for video? Thanks,
Peter

I was reading Yuri's blog on his least and most favorite items. He uses a 12x12 Intuos. Why a square format and not the 9x12. How does this square format translate to a cinema display? Is a bunch of the tablet become non usable? i want get a tablet soon and would like to buy the right one first time around. Thanks,
Peter

I'm curious what format people submit in. sRGB or Adobe (1998)? I know that big most trad agencies want Adobe 1998 but how about micros. Does the extra punch sRGB give make it worthwhile.

... or do others find it difficult reading the forums over at iStock. I always figure there is something to learn but the level of smarminess on the posts there can really get to a guy.

Has anyone noticed that MM dumped their site? They link to the parent company now or is my browser fritzing out?

I must wonder if my files are put through a stupidity filter prior to reaching the temple of inspectors at iStock. I am getting incomplete address rejections for releases. (not all images of course that use the same release). There is absolutely not a single item missing from the address info. Perhaps it is the colour of ink or the way the model formed his 7's that has disagreed with this purveyors of BS.

For submitting video clips, is it the usual cast of characters as far as submitting is concerned or are some sites better sellers than their image counterparts? ie. Does SS and IS dominate the market?

I started shooting people on an isolated white background. Yes, I know it's a great idea and hope not too many people copy me. I made my round of subs with 15 going to iStock. It's the same models, same post processing etc. I had a close look and see the same level of delineation between subject and background. 7/15 were rejected for the dreaded jaggies. (Showing off the highly consistent level of reviewing once again). Have any of you any suggestions how I may improve this ratio without sneaking into the basement of a reviewer and bribing them with a new 5D2?

Given that there are seasonal swings in sales volumes, do many of you hold back submissions to coincide with the highs in sales?
