Hi Everyone,

As I promised yesterday in the other thread, the nomination process for photos to be considered for the Free collection is now up and running. Photos that are approved after the nomination window closes on June 22 will generate a $5 payment for each, for a non-exclusive, one-year commitment. Sign into the contributor portal now to nominate your eligible photos.

You can view the Free Collection FAQ and 2022 addendum for additional information here: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/free-collection-contributor-information.html

Hi Everyone,

If you have submitted video content to Adobe Stock, you will be receiving an email today announcing that HD video clips will be available to license as part of Adobe Stock subscriptions.

I wanted you to hear it from me first here. On a rolling basis, starting today, HD video clips will be available to license through Adobe Stock subscriptions (25 credits per month or larger). The royalty rate will remain at 35% of the price paid per download. 4K clips will be included in the subscriptions (25 credits per month or larger) at a 20% discount, which is equivalent to our credit pack discount.

You can see detailed information on potential royalties here: https://contributor.stock.adobe.com/en/royalties

Let me know if you have any questions, I will be around all day though please know that I'm traveling tomorrow (Thursday) through Monday so my response time during this date range will almost definitely be delayed. Thanks in advance for your patience.

Hi Everyone,

I would like to invite you to join me today for a livestream session that should prove to be informative for contributors. At 12pm PT on Behance live I'll be joined by Adobe Stock Head of Content Sarah Casillas where she will look back on Adobe Stock contributor accomplishments in 2021 and give a sneak peak into what you can all expect from us in 2022.

After Sarah's presentation I'll be joined by Shea Molloy who is the Content Development Lead at Adobe Stock for Vectors and Illustrations where she will be discussing ways to scale production of those asset types to maximize potential and grow your portfolio in a meaningful way.

I'll then take over and discuss ways to do the same with photos and videos.

It's a jam packed agenda and I hope you can tune in!

Here is a link to the Adobe Stock page at Behance Live, refresh the page at 5 minutes before noon PT and you'll be in the right place.

« on: November 24, 2021, 17:10 »
Hello everyone,

The Adobe Stock team has been developing an Artist Hub designed to be an educational and inspiration platform for Adobe Stock contributors. The site is in it's infancy with many plans in progress for more content and multiple page updates so please bookmark the site and check it out from time to time. Adobe Stock / Upload up to 100 releases in bulk at Adobe Stock
« on: November 03, 2021, 17:58 »
Hi everyone,

Contributors submitting a high volume of content have requested the option to upload more than one release at a time at Adobe Stock. I'm pleased to inform you that this is now possible. You can upload up to 100 releases at a time directly into the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal.

To do so, navigate to the Releases section found in the Uploaded Files page. From there, click the Create a Release button in the upper right corner and finally, click Bulk Upload Scanned Releases. You can then navigate to your JPG release files and upload them. The release will be named as the file name and cannot be customized in the portal so keep that in mind if you are using CSV files for your metadata.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Mat Hayward

Hi All,

If you have vectors and/or illustrations online in your Adobe Stock portfolio, check the contributor portal between now (Monday, Oct 25) and November 2. Selected assets may be available for you to nominate to be accepted into the Adobe Stock Free collection. If your nominated asset is accepted after the nomination window closes on November 2 you will be paid an upfront amount of $5 per asset. It's a short window for nominations so act fast!

Let me know if you have any questions,

Mat Hayward

Hi Everyone,

At this moment, we are making upfront payments for the 3rd wave of selections for the Free collection from the images you had previously nominated. If any of your images are selected for this wave, you will see your balance go up automatically within the next couple of hours. We will be sending you an email in the next day or so with the number of files approved and the amount of credits added to your account balance.

We are handling this 3rd wave differently than the previous 2. The selected files will remain in your paid portfolio for a short period of time yet to be determined. We are paying for the use in advance to simplify the process on our end when transferring images into the free collection. As always, we are closely watching the collection to determine what, if any impact there may be on the paid collection. By paying in advance, we can move the images at the appropriate time in a more seamless manner.

It is worth noting that the 12 month period in which your nominated assets are available for the Free collection begins the moment the payment is added to your account.

Thank you,

Mat Hayward

Hi everyone,

I want to inform you that the second wave of approvals for the Adobe Stock Free collection will be taking place sometime in the next couple of days (likely August 9 or 10). For those of you that nominated eligible images before June 23 and have some that remain nominated, they may be selected this week in this 2nd wave of approvals.

As before, for each image selected this round, Adobe Stock will be adding $5 (if traditionally paid in USD, otherwise 5 credits in your currency) to your account balance. I recommend you take note of how many images you have currently approved for the free collection using the "filter by price tier" button in the dashboard. After this next wave of approvals, check the number of approved files again to determine how many images were approved this round. We will be sending you an email later in the week with the exact number of images approved and the amount added to your account so be sure to watch for that.

If we determine that increasing collection size is still achieving our goals, it's likely some contributors with nominated images, will see additional content acquisition happen through the end of September.

You can review the FAQ here for additional information: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/free-collection-contributor-information.html

Thank you,

Mat Hayward

As many of you know, last year Adobe Stock launched a free collection to drive traffic to the marketplace. The initial collection was limited to participation from a very small number of Adobe Stock Contributors. We were pleased with the results: traffic did increase and many visitors who initially came for free content converted to paying customers, resulting in added revenue for the larger Contributor community.

Its now time to refresh and expand the program. For a limited time starting on June 7, many of you will see a banner in the dashboard section of the Adobe Stock Contributor portal. The banner gives you the opportunity to nominate qualified photos from your portfolio. You can nominate all eligible files (photos only at this time), or you can go through the Dashboard and nominate individual files. Please note that your best-selling images are exempt from this program. We will not be accepting any images that received more than 4 downloads in the past 12 months.

You have until June 23 to nominate any or all your eligible files. After that, the banner will go away, and our moderation team will quickly review the submissions.

A big difference between the Adobe Stock free collection and other sites offering content for free is that we are paying Contributors up front for participation. For every file approved for the free collection, we are paying a one-time rate of $5 (If paid in USD currently. Otherwise, 5 credits in your currency) . This payment is for 12 months of non-exclusive use in the free collection. After the 12 months are up, the files will automatically be returned into your paid collection.
Please see the FAQ for more details, and let me know if you have any additional questions not covered there.

Hi Everyone,

As of today, Adobe Stock is using SFTP protocol instead of FTP for asset uploads. You will need to reset your password before your next upload as it has been changed. Detailed instructions showing how to do that can be found here: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/user-guide.html/stock/contributor/help/uploading-content.ug.html

Kind regards,

Today Adobe Stock announced Pro Edition, a new plan for Creative Cloud for Teams and Enterprises, which supplies unlimited downloads from our Standard collection of photos, illustrations, and vectors. Contributors receive 33% of Adobe revenue from stock. Payouts will be distributed among Contributors proportional to their downloads.

Adobe created Pro Edition for medium to large businesses and enterprises, aiming to equip all users in an organization with access to stock content alongside their CC apps. This empowers many more users to create, as opposed to only select users as has been the case in the past. Pro Edition is only available to qualifying businesses, to maximize service value to customers and overall payouts to Contributors.

For more info about the Pro Edition, please see the Contributor FAQ here: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/contributor-faq-for-cct-cce-pro-edition-.html

I am pleased to inform you that Adobe Stock contributors who qualified for the Creative Cloud bonus in 2020 can now redeem the bonus by clicking the link found in the blue banner at the top of the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal! You can view details about how to redeem your code here: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/how-to-redeem-creative-cloud-bonus-code.html

IMPORTANT! If you qualified for a single app, once you click your selection, the selection is permanent and cannot be changed so choose wisely! Don't click the banner until you are ready to see the entire process through. Read the page I linked above first to get an idea of what the means.

I have more good news to share! The program will continue through 2021 with the qualification requirements remaining the same as they were in 2020.

Stay creative!

Hi Everyone,

Last month we announced our plans for the Adobe Stock Advocates program and Artist Development Fund. I am pleased to share that we have now officially launched the program and are accepting applications. For information about the Adobe Stock Artist Development fund including how to apply, go here: https://stock.adobelanding.com/adobe-advocates/fund/

The Advocates Program is not only for those who will be selected to receive the Artist Development Fund but is open to all stock contributors. Everyone is invited to participate by creating inclusive content. As you likely know, content that features diversity and inclusivity is in high demand by stock customers and their audiences. We have shared creative briefs on the Advocates program website to provide you with inspiration for your projects. It doesnt need to be newly created content, if you have existing content on your hard-drive that fits our creative briefs we encourage you to submit it.

It is our goal to be leaders of positive change in stock by encouraging and supporting the production of high quality, inclusive content and we hope you will support and participate in this important endeavor. For information on the Advocates program including the eight creative briefs, go here: https://stock.adobelanding.com/adobe-advocates/

We've put together a detailed FAQ which should cover your questions: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/adobe-stock-advocates-program-faq.html

If you have any questions we didn't answer in the FAQ, please let me know and I'll get back to you asap.

Thank you,

A quick note informing you we have recently changed the requirements for Illustrative Editorial submissions to include contributors ranked bronze and above. To reach Bronze you must have at least 100 downloads in your account.

If you have not yet reached the rank of Bronze but you have an extensive Illustrative Editorial portfolio, you may submit a link for approval consideration through the contact us link found at the bottom of the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal.

Additional information can be found here: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/illustrative-editorial-content.html

There were two major announcements by Adobe today that impact Adobe Stock contributors. The first was the launch of the Adobe Stock Free collection which is being discussed in this thread: https://www.microstockgroup.com/fotolia-com/introducing-the-free-collection-from-adobe-stock/msg557657/?topicseen#new

The second announcement is the Advocates program which is a new initiative from Adobe Stock focused on championing self-identifying artists and content from underrepresented communities. To reflect Adobes commitment to inclusion, Adobe Stock is taking meaningful action: Were investing $500,000 in a new Artist Development Fund. Forty selected artists will use these funds to embark on ambitious new projects in 2021.

It is an exciting program and I'm looking forward to seeing it progress. The formal announcement for both the free collection and the Advocates program can be read here: https://blog.adobe.com/en/2020/10/14/adobe-stock-enabling-creativity-free-assets-artist-development-fund.html#gs.iq3y4h

For the sake of organization and to prevent a redundant conversation, please keep the comments and feedback about the free collection in the other thread linked above.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments regarding the Advocates program and Artist Development Fund.

Thank you,

Mat Hayward

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to give you a heads up that after tomorrow (Friday, July 24) I will be on a one month sabbatical and will be offline most, if not all of that time. Instead, I'll be soaking up some sun and shooting lots of stock! I'll be back the end of August and will check in here then.

Should anything come up that you need assistance with, please write to us via the contact us link found at the bottom of the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal or via email to [email protected]. Someone will get back to you asap.

Hi Everyone,

The next time you visit the upload page in the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal you will see a new feature. You can now select and upload collections of images you have created withing Lightroom while you are in the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal. It is a seamless workflow and should save you Lightroom users some time and help keep you organized.

To clarify, you can upload individual images through the Publish panel in Lightroom Classic and you can now upload Lightroom collections through the contributor portal. Let me know what you think and if you have any questions.

Adobe Stock / Adobe Stock release UI improvement
« on: June 24, 2020, 15:01 »
Hi Everyone,

I am very pleased to announce that a very useful upgrade to the release UI has been added to the Adobe Stock Contributor portal today. You can now hide inactive releases so they do not show up when you are indexing new content. This has been a top feature request for me and I hope it makes your lives a bit easier when submitting. If you are like me you have many, many releases that will never need to be used again. This can be a nuisance when trying to find the right release. Now you can navigate to the release section under the Uploaded Files tab and deactivate releases you'll no longer use. Those deactivated releases will still remain attached to the files you have online and they can be reactivated at any time.

For me, I plan to only keep releases active that I'm currently using on a shoot. This way I can open the dropdown menu and select all relevant releases in one fell swoop. It should be a big time saver for contributors submitting a significant volume of content. We are working on more upgrades and I'll be sure to share them here in MSG as they are released.
