« on: March 09, 2008, 17:20 »
When you request payment it says "Payment requests made before the end of February will be sent out before March 10" Considering it is a week-end you still have a day before getting nervous ;-) SY

LuckyOliver.com / Re: Double Standards!
« on: March 08, 2008, 17:05 »
Seems I was the bad reviewer, for me an isolation has to follow the following standard: "When key wording/ describing an image as "isolated" and/ or "isolation" it has to be on a pure white (#FFFFFF) or other uniform background without any stray pixel and with well defined edges, so that a buyer can just cut&paste it with a few clicks." If the image in question doesn't comply with this standard I will reject it. If you don't agree with ANY review at Lucky Oliver then you are always free, and will get a response, by emailing Bryan at [email protected] BTW, I don't do isolated shoots myself for the simple reason that it is not the kind of image I like to take, but that doesn't mean I don't recognize a good or bad isolation when Is see it. I can assure you that I spend far more time with each image I reject then with the ones I accept. Regards, SY

Total results: $100 payout received, nearly $50 in the bank.

5 dls so far for February BUT nearly all, but one, being sideshow sales = $2-4 commission for me  ;D beats a lot of the lower performing sites like craphamlet and the like  ;D looking at my overall earnings at LO there is definitively an upwards trend ;-) Yes, I earn more money at SS/ IS in a month then I do at LO in several months BUT I still like the higher commission they give me (after reaching the sideshow WHICH IS FREE)

It just feels better to get $$$ for your work then cents, SY

*In case you haven't joined already fell free to use my Lucky Oliver Referral LInk, doesn't cost you anything, but might earn me a bucky*

New Sites - General / Re: Beware of Red Bubble

He knows who he is. That's the only thing of relevance.

Pardon me and who are you? A user name that translate to "revenge" and two posts doesn't give you to much credibility in my eyes. Either you are a troll that has nothing to do with red bubble and/ or microstock in general and just enjoys trolling or you are a really a supporter of red bubble then your behaviour really sheds a bad light on them. SY

No idea, my max was around 6GB/ month bandwidth usage and that is for a site that gets several hundred hits per day, so I don't know if you ever would need so much? SY

I second coppermine and for a good host I recommend hostgator, lowest plan has 350GB storage and 3GB bandwith, I am hosting a high traffic site with them (+some low traffic ones) and it works like a dream, highly recommended! SY

My Hostgator Referral link in case somebody wants to use it

Photoshop Discussion / Re: Illustrator tutorials
« on: January 06, 2008, 14:48 »
Idea: Might give you some competition but what about putting seasonal tutorials like "Valentine Hearts" "St Patrick Leaf" "Christmas Holly" "Mothersday I don't know what" up? Not a tutorial how to do the full ideal illustration/ Background but the basic shapes, like how to draw a heart, interlink them etc I think you get the idea ;-) And can you put up also other tutorials like for Corel Draw, Inkscape etc? SY

Is there anything I should do/worry about?

Apart from Richard selling your shots on a CD door to door or on Ebay, nothing at all ;-)
Hospitalera should know more about it. I think she is connected in some way to the site. It's probably a server hickup.

Ooops, no, I know nothing, gave up to help there because it became to time consuming, but my images I left on line. So no news from me, sorry. SY

Love the tutorials, but they are really hard to read, font colour is a bit too much like the background colour. Fine when you are twenty, but not when you are, ehm above 21  ::) SY
