Why do you need to temporarily hide your portfolio?

please new CEO!... take a look at and "SEE" what we have suffered in recent years, here is my 2015 sale graph on istock, how deplorable is, isn't it?

General sales down, new crappy SUBSCRIPTION sales down, PP down, all the way is down....

madman. Did not you drop your exclusivity
on July 2015?

General Stock Discussion / Re: Getty Is Twenty Years Old
« on: March 15, 2015, 01:16 »
I cringe every time I hear the "amateur" photo mid stock site thing, just shows again and again that Klein never got it.

They left out many important things and especially like Jo Ann said, that it was Kleins mismanagement that ruined istock. Under Bruce it was the dominant agency and it would have certainly staid that way with him at the helm, but Klein and his team ruined a thriving business in a really short time. The culture of denial and always blaming others was the worst problem. They are still doing it now, trying to pin their lack of success on the strong competition to deflect from their incompetence.

I wonder if Klein actually got out because he realized that the company might blow up and took the golden parachute so that others can either clean up the mess or he cant be blamed if the company is closed.

I genuinely hope this is an opportunity to bring in someone new with a vision and not the first step to splitting it up and selling of the parts.
Very well said!

I replied and the guy who suggested stealing it argued that I don't really own the copyright. Amazing.

Great reply though ! Shut him right up  ;)
Well done, Shelma!

Account deleted? I am getting 404 error.

(This is a repost of what I wrote in the other 2015 predictions thread which looks like it's dying, so I'll add it here:)

My prediction: the Wall will come down on more people than ever in 2015, making them so depressed about microstock that they will give up.  This will include many hobbyists who earn just a few thousand a year, as well as some of the big contributors who earn (or once earned) six figures.

People will do the math and realize that they can no longer increase their own ports as quickly (by percentage) as the agencies can, making microstock a losing game once your port hits a certain size.  There's just no way around this math.  In my first few years, I was certain I could beat the Wall.  I was going to work harder, achieve better quality, find better niches than anyone else.  Oh, how deluded I was.

I'm predicting my own income will fall 20% or so, and my resolution is to find another income stream.  For me, 2014 was the big wake-up call that microstock is not the reliable source of secondary income I hoped might carry me into retirement.  That dream is long gone.  2015 will be the year I resolve to find another income source to get passionate about and reduce the time I waste on this unsustainable numbers game.
My thoughts exactly!

And this reflects the situation BEFORE the "relaunch", since when sales have tanked without any sign of sales transferring to PP - at least, not in my results.

Looking at my sales downloads of subscriptions are sharply increasing while regular sales are decreasing. I earn less per subscription download and am now earning 1/3-1/2 of what I used to after 9/14 for regular downloads. So subscription sales may actually be up for them. But that doesn't do me any good.

Right. Same here. I was making around $500 a month on IS and then they introduced TS.  Slowly my IS sales decline but TS revenue grew, canceling each other out. But I can officially say that the canceling out even steven is no longer the case.  I am now only making about $130 a month from Stock with 2900 images (used to be $500) and maybe between $150-$200 with TS.  So total revenue of about just over $300 a month.  But I have sold A LOT MORE IMAGES through TS, so revenue=down, sales volume=up.

Getty made a huge mistake with TS. It move away customers from iStock.
They will close TS soon to concentrate the marketing efforts in one place and bust subs sales on iStock.

It's irritating how there are people who do not bother to create and copy the art of others (and still have the lazy to change a few things) trying to fool the original authors. Still call us donkeys indirectly, as if a little change would mislead the original authors.  >:(

Disgusting  >:(
"delta_art" is ripping off both the original artists and the agencies.

Unbelievable what these scumbags think they can get away with.

It's a shame iStock did not terminate this scumbag account.
Looks like iStock is fine with selling stolen works.  >:(

iStock has no shame and no respect for his clients and contributors.

iStock is lying by selling these photos as "Only from iStock"
http://www.istockphoto.com/photo/young-blonde-woman-against-white-background-confident-49645520
And making them available everywhere else
http://www.123rf.com/photo_32385238_young-blonde-woman-against-white-background-confident.html

Making these special deals behind the scene is like spitting in clients and contributors faces.  >:(

I just don't understand why this unclear sort order is a potentially positive move for buyer?
