Always, always pursue infringements if you are certain your work has been used commercially without license. Most of my work is RM and I chase every infringer with the threat of legal action. I make a significant income from infringers each year - plus, it teaches them a valuable lesson and deters them from illegally using images in the future.
If we all simply shrug our shoulders when people use our work without permission then there is no incentive for these people to buy licenses.

These changes and then 7 refunds in a row - that's too much.
In stead of having breakfast this morning and starting to work I manually cancelled more than 100 recent uploads and started deactivating files (170 already and counting).
Also have got 5 refunds after years without even single one. There must be thousands of refunds reported to all the contributors! All these sudden refunds reported by Getty are very fishy  Who are all those buyers? And why are all of them decided to cancel all these purchases in one day?

Anyway, I am removing all my images but one from iStock before August 20th - whilst I can. I don't have any more positive expectations from them. Nothing good for contributors will happen this September on Getty in that I am sure.

I think the answer lies clearly in all the red on their balance sheets.
Getty has a HUGE DEBT... Many years they have been squeezing iStock until the last drop of a juice, until it's dead. Now they have no choice but to lock everybody in their cage before they die.

Well, I just deleted all files in my exclusive account. After almost 10 years I'm closing it down.
I just don't want to deal with Getty/iStock's bs any longer. Locking my files up and not allowing to change keyword was what did me in. I didn't upload that much compared to most others but it got to be not worth the effort any more. I'll be looking for somewhere else to post and sell my stock pictures. Anyone have any suggestions, I'm all ears.
From what I can see from the last year - video is the only fast growing area in stock industry: iStock sales disappeared 3 years ago. SS is flooded with millions of photos each week. Fotolia under Adobe is allure to attract more clients to their Creative Cloud their sales are worsening.

Based on past experience, I would bet on this scenario.
Sounds like they're getting ready for the next D-Day.
They are ready for D-day - contributors won't be able to deactivate their own photos.

I can't find anything on their forum about this so I was wondering if this means that istock is going to disappear.
Also no word about Thinkstock and the partner program. Looks like Getty is simplifying their over complicated system. Nobody there is able to handle this mountain of crap anymore.

My guess is that iStock will go away.
They are merging iStock with Getty. iStock audio is already there. They are closing Thinkstock and are shutting down the partner program.

I no longer trust Shutterstock.
Me too. SS experience is the worst: random rejections, deleting images behind my back, Falling sales, thousands images spam. I am so glad I moved on into video world! Never looked back ever since.
