the only thing I object is hot-linking the images..
I suggest that you don't hotlink to other sites as well because it may get you punished by google..
another reason is I am upgrading my sites now and when finished in a few weeks, I will add a little code in my htaccess file to prevent hot-linking.. so the image will not be visible on your blog anyway..
just a basic post and/or link will do it for me.. I will also link to the sites when I am done upgrading..

Do you have a reliable source for that ? As far as I've been able to find out, Google still sees it as a good inbound link to your site.
However, if you don't want that, no problem, we'll still give you a link. We're also giving a text link to the sites' home pages, anyway.

Good thing that you asked.. I did a quick search about it and didn't really find much except it is bad for bandwidth which is not a concern here since a credit link is being given.. I don't know why I remember it as a bad thing for SEO..
so, I guess you can hotlink to any image you prefer..

Hi, I'm (very) new here, and I think that exchanging links is a very good idea. Based on the little I know about SEO it seems that if we add these links in specific ways we can maximize the value of the exchanged links; for example, we should avoid any risk the googlebot interpret them as a link farm. Is there anyone here who can provide guidance on a strategy so that we all benefit as much as possible?
