Is it just me?

I'd not worried about it for a while, but thought I'd look into this...

If I try to reply, or post a new thread on SS I get a message saying to log out, then back in.. I do that, and it just gives me the same message...

I thought it might be my browser (Firefox 1.0.4 / Linux) so I just tried IE7 on XP, and Firefox 2 on XP and got the same result...

Anyone else having that problem?

I've always had to log out and log back in again before I can post which really annoys me but I've never had any problems once I've logged back in.   I've just been and tried posting and for the first time ever I wasn't asked to log out and in so they must have been making some changes and not got it right.  Contact support about it.

It has been like that as long as I have been there. It's very annoying. I think they presented a fix last year, something about deleting a cookie. I can't remember if I tried, but when I bought a new Mac last week, the problem was still the same, even if i started from scratch.

I have had the same problem for the last couple of days. However, after logging out and back in again I am able to post a message in the forums.

I've only been able to post once as myself on the SS forum. I do the log out/log in routine, but when it comes to actually submitting my post I get a message that my user name is already in use--I can submit my post but only as a "guest." Very annoying, so I don't even bother to try anymore.  Angry

Good to see it's not just me...   Smiley

I wonder if it is a timezone thing for the cookie?  I'm GMT+12, what timezones are you folks in?

It did work for me a few times back when I first joined, but I've not managed to post in the last few months...  Very annoying, there are some interesting threads on SS, and because Jon & crew don't instantly stamp out conversations about other sites and SS itself it's the one other micro forum I'd feel happy paticipating in....

Cheers, Me.

Ah, you must mean the "Show me" threads. Very controversial   Cheesy

Just joking, but there are too many of them. I'm on GMT +7 btw.

same with me on that -- I've given up and don't post there.  I use netscape but have had the same issues on ie.

as a side note - since I got a raise, my sales have been slower than slow!! I'm making more per shot but many, many less shots.

Well, the show me threads is what I normally try to post to as it happens, or at least that's what I last tried...

But they are the only forums on a micro site that allow reasonably open discussion of other sites and the site itself...  Possibly because it is a closed forum I suppose, but it's still a good thing.

There have been a couple of threads more meaningful than 'Show me your big toe' I would have liked to contribute to, but couldln't as it's broke.

Cheers, Me.

I was not able to post for ages, I logged in and out and deleted cookies. I find I have no problems since I downloaded Firefox.

I think they must have tried to kludge the forum into their regular login system and it's obviously not working right... I often have to logout and then login again but it has always worked after I do that.
