Based on the lousy tech cr*p we've seen at SS over the last 1-2 years, this could turn out to be a major plus for us. Assuming, of course, upper management actually makes an effort to find somebody who knows and cares enough to fix it.

Otherwise, we're likely to see SS continue its slow, relentless swirl around the toilet bowl.

definitely! it can certainly go either way.
as i mentioned, most of the times, in corporate world, the nice noble reasons are usually a white-wash to give an impression improvement is being made, when in fact, it is to send a smoke-screen to protect the sorry @$$es who were responsible for all the $c*wups.
iow, the back to the family is to protect the guilty and send the scapegoat out the door.

or , it could be that when Oringer came in to send us all an email,
it is the beginning of a general cleanup...
and we will see more heads on the chopping block.

the next few weeks will tell. if we continue to get more slowdown and mass rejection
as well as more 100% approval of really bad work,...
then we know it is of the former ie a whitewash , and no more a$$es will be rolling!!!

then we will see the beginning of istock all over again.

They must be taking their cue from some of the major sports teams.  If they have a bad season, fire the coach.  I doubt if Mr. Anshu actually got his hands dirty with hands-on programming.  What they really need to do is sack all their IT techs and bring in ones that know what they are doing.  I recall a few years back there was a notice sent out from Calgary that IS was letting all their IT people go.  I think this was a consolidation with Getty.  You may recall, there was a lot of grief in the contributor world around the same time about piss-poor programming at IS.  Well, now we know where they all moved to.   :o

geez, another mind-reader +1000
yes, i recall that too, and i shook my head when they sent out a goodwill signal to the
ppl of istock, inviting them over,
that included all the reviewers who were approving the indies with the crap non-competitive images while rejecting all the good images that could hurt their elites.
yes, we now know where those mass rejection tradition came from...
istock of course !

and soon, we will see a deja vu, and these istock-ers will need another sites to send out
a goodwill to ss inviting them to their site...
maybe adobe, LOL
