I tried to upload some video clips to SS but they have never shown up. It was also very slow to upload. The files were big and over 1G.

They are all in P5 so I assume it was not a problem with my connection or speed.

What could be the issues? Thanks!

The whole editor is a mess at the moment. I cant even begin to sum up the issues I am running into. Its just all over the place.

Occasionally, I can ftp one footage, but more often I can't.

The review is slower too, right?

I still cannot upload anything around 1G or bigger.

Is there a file size limit?

I tried to submit Prores 4:2:2, and am reluctant to use MP4.

Please suggest. Thanks!

Fingers crossed reviews are fair and not the wild west. Waiting for about a week now.

No problem. Just I really wish to know why I cannot upload.

I thought so too. Wonder why I cannot upload. No problems before, and no problems with P5.

That sounds right. I too had the same issue. I recoded to a slightly lesser file to make the clip <1G and it uploaded fine. The thing is it won't tell you you have gone astray.

That's about right, I cannot get anything even below 1G.

However, occasionally I was able too.

I have never used SS forum. I'd rather be working instead of venting.  Very frustrating.

Is the uploader out of order again?

For me it has always been anything over 300mb will fail at some point between 300-400mb uploading. These same files upload fine to all other agencies.

I have contacted support multiple times, with no resolution. This has been going on for a year or more.

Frustrating to say the least.

I keep having the same problem. Need to reupload many times before it actually gets there.

What UL speed are you getting from your home. I am about 1.5 mbps which I think is the norm...
I wonder if is us or them that is the problem... meaning, do those with better bandwidth have more success uploading.

I will have 50 mbps up and down next year to my home... that will rock

around 4 mbps, it is usually ok, but this week has been really difficult. no problems on other sites.

Uploading a 2.5GB file as we speak. So far, so good.

Nope. I found an error message this morning. The upload failed, indeed.

They have been having an issue with large (>500mb) FTP uploads for some time now - it was discussed in the old forum.  I don't know if the discussion was copied through to the new one though.

I am also having trouble uploading 4k files. Being larger than normal HD (between 1-2gb) some don't seem to fully register with SS. From a small batch of 7 or 8, some will upload fine and generate thumbs. The others register as files with names however no thumbs and simply disappear when submitted. Pretty frustrating give the time taken to upload that size of file.

Its true, my problems are usually with 4k files.

I am sure that is a solvable problem, most of my work going forward will be 4k.

Seems to work better if you set your ftp client to only load one clip at a time. Haven't had this problem on other sites.

I have to bring up this topic again, as I have no clue what's going on. Everything was fine until Monday. Now I am unable to set up a proper connection to the ss server.

I always receive the following messages:

Status: Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS (in black)
Command: my username (in blue)
Response: 331 Password required for my username (in green)
Command: PASS ***************** (in blue)
Response: 530 Login incorrect (in green)
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server (in red)

I didn't touch the settings. Sent a message to SS support, so far no response, maybe, hopefully someone here has an idea to help me out.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

There's a thread on the Shutterstock forum about it.  They are looking into it.

I know about the thread, thanks. Just checked and saw, there are more with the same issue. So I guess, the problem is not at my end. Let's wait and see and produce some more in the meantime  :D

I just uploaded about 100 videos. Took 12 hours but they are submitted with little issue other than time. About 60 of them were 4K.

Had huge issues uploading there that started around April. These past 2 months i havent uploaded much but it is working for me and speeds are what they should be.
Only issue remaining is the broken thumbnails which given the nature of the contributor panel makes certain types of clips (different versions of same clips etc) very difficult to fill in.
