... looks like most people are getting plenty of OD sales on SS - how did you fare this month?

Still a day and a half to go, but...

On Demand sales were very 'grouped' by date this month. 13 sales in three groups all huddled around the middle of the week. One of those statistical anomalies, I suspect.

I hope you don't mind that i added some options to your poll sharpley.

I thought it would be nice to have both polls in the same place.

Okay, voted now.

But I think there's a statistical problem with the first vote (How much did you earn?).

The trouble is that this is a self-selecting sample. Those people who have high earnings are the ones who are more active photographers and so are more likely to take part in such a poll.

There is also the psychological aspect. People are happy to tell of their high earnings. They're not so happy to tell of zero or very low earnings.

In other words, the results are going to be skewed towards the high end.

ODs have been amazing this month.  I made nearly 90$ on OD sales alone and 7$ on back up cds when the normal is 2 - 3$.  Earnings in general are well down though and I think it is the worst month this year for earnings.

Right! my overall incomes are 10% less than july, even though I had a consistent number of OD sales...

Today I had only 2 DL.s on "25 a Day"... :(

"On demand" is just a dream for me!

OD is really taking off. Overall I had ~8-10% of them in all of September, but the second half of September they account for arround 13-18% of my earnings at SS with OD sales almost every day. I am close to have a BME. Finally SS works out for me again.

SS is doing really badly for me, in spite of regular (almost daily) uploads. September seems to end 15% below September last year. Other agencies more than compensates for this by doing better though.

OD's make up about 10% for me. And for some reason SS picked up a lot in the last few days, making it a decent 2nd BME (wasn't expecting that at all since september started sooooo slow)

SS has been quite slow for me, although with new uploads, they do not get too many downloads.
OD does help a lot though.

I have 140 pics on SS, usually about 5-15 DL.s per day, but last three days I heven't  any sales... Zero for last three days! Even with 10 new image..

Is there some problem , am I out of search engine, or  buyers really don't like my pictures any more!?

It's sort of hard to say why downloads stop/start getting higher but the one thing i found out after doing this for a while is this: if your portfolio is big enough there are a lot less major fluctuations. And SS.. well really the only way to keep getting downloads is to keep uploading.  Thats the one basic rule for SS i'm afraid  :-\

I was about 6% OD last month. This month OD is almost up to last month's $$$s. Great trend. SS is now beating iStock almost daily. Love the quick reviews and fast sales.
