hello,

As far as I know SS does not accept image larger than 25MPixel. I see lots of images at 6000x6000 (36Mpixel). How can this be ?

Thanks

Konstantinos

They don't accept images larger than 25MB , resolution is not important.

36MP Huh for 30 cents Smiley  No way!  I guess those must be illustrations.

Anyway I can understand why the reviewer would reject it.
1. at this size the image/picture is way too large for the vast majority of buyers (too big to download, too much memory needed to work on it, etc...)
2. they have to review the image at 100%, so for the time they have to spend reviewing a 36MP image they could review about 9 4MP images and make 4 times more money ;-)

My rule is generally to never upload anything bigger than 4MP for subscription site.

They interpolate the images, in fact I just checked an image which I uploaded way in the past with the size of about 6-9 Mp is available at 36 MP.
One recent image submitted with a size of ~2,5-3MP is available at 12 MP. So maybe they increase the size 4X to a maximum of 36 MP.

Yes, that's what they do - I thought everyone already knew this.

I discovered this almost immediately after joining, so I began downsizing to 4MP in order to take advantage of it. I started a thread about it, but most people saw no advantage, and thought my sales were being hindered because of it.

SS heavily interpolates pics so thats why are so picky about noise - if you multiply it 4x during interpolation you get pretty nasty picture!

I do upload only 4MP pics there, at first to avoid any potential trouble and second - I get no advantage for uploading larger pics.

I dont think huge size of 25MP pics is problem for reviewing but more for interpolation - because they interpolate all pics and imagine the memory requirement when you upsize 25MP pics 4x!
