I'm getting on now (in the southwestern US), but the 15 images in my not-yet-submitted queue have disappeared.

I also had to go through 4-5 captcha-quizzes to get in. Is anybody else having to do that nowadays?

www.isitdownrightnow.com is reporting it's up and useable, but I'm not seeing that here. Not on IE, not on Chrome.

Buyer's side seems to be slow and erratic to me.

Yea, not sure if they are in maintenance mode or hacked. If in maintenance then they should shoot an email that contributor portal will not be available for a day or two..
I am still worried as I have many files for upload..

Buyer and contributor sites are back down again. What a joke that a company as large as this does not have a backup site. In todays internet world you need a backup plan and a diaster site. You cant afford to loose customers.

actually they've been out to lunch for weeks with sales down 50% and no SOD for weeks since forever.
for this reason, i think that is why the IT ppl suddenly wokeup from their comatose or the bosses came back from the google convention or kickback-meeting with shareholders and try damage-control.
but i don't think anyone in HO is worried about anything as summer hols are already booked and they are going off to spend their kickbacks 8)

I've been with Shutterstock almost from the very beginning, about 10 years now. It's always been the most technically reliable agency, never down, never any serious glitches. During the last year or so it started to change noticeably. That combined with recent absurd image reviews could be an indication that Vogons are taking over...

The site is always buggy and it has been buggier over the last week.  Back up, but some images unavailable to buyers and the forum has pages that do not open at all.

The site goes down so often we should have a permanent thread to discuss the topic.

Are we supposed to go search through the forums every day to see if they might shut something down then next day?  They should have sent an email, tweet, or put up a notice on the contributor site at the very least shouldn't they?  But you're right that doesn't explain why it's been broken so often recently.

It is very clearly under the big "Announcements" heading on the contributor page.

Are they supposed to personally come over and knock on your door and hand you a monogrammed letter?

or they got IT ppl from istock working with them  ;D which explains deja-vu efffect on ss .
whatever, the cause of lower earning for sure has to be due to technical problems...if we can get in, clients cannot either. seems like some areas are fine, reportedly from the forum.
otoh, istock is doing better now, so maybe some of the ss disappearances have gone there ;D
