Thats the whole problem. SS have given all the geniuses the boot and replaced them with "civil servants" that really havent got a clue of what they are doing. The only one left is probably their poor moderator whatever his name was but sometimes comes in here telling us everything is fine, great and wonderful.

How are your sales, guys? Mine are frozen :-X I really don't know what to expect anymore. I still upload, but I don't know how much I can go like this. It is no point to make new stuff if it's not sold. I guess the new content is not even seen. All I've sold the last past days, was stuff uploaded months ago.

you remember when it was all sales and simple (K.I.S.S)... and all we got was bare-bones???
it was so long ago. but i was such a happy camper because all i care was to see the 80 backs
single sales coming in regularly.
now with all the hi-tech flash impressive IT bs, which is like those video games
that only newbie-gamers would go woo yahh amazing CGI !!! but the experienced ones
know it's all flash and nothing incredible game-wise...
we have the same thing with geo-mapping, ...

i really don't give a rodent's anu$ if i get back to the old shutterstock bare-bones,
so long as the site is working perfectly and the big earnings come back to me.
which is like, i can't remember when already .  i stop uploading too, because feeding the beast
no longer is a shutterstock game.

the game-makers are all sent home to spend more time with family,
and you are right, :civil servants: who only sit by the workstation to complain
how terrible their job is... while munching on pizza and playing pingpong during their
cigarette-breaks all through the day.

shame!
but i now hope this vanishing game is because they fired the civil servants
and brought back the family people to run shutterstock all over again.

(but i think i am day-dreaming).

I spoke with a owner of a large web developing company in my area recently and he told me that they used to buy from SS a lot but hardly ever now days because SS has been chaining so many things that they can't find the type of images they used to on SS.

Funny you should bring this up! I spoke to a PR consult and agency a couple of weeks back who used to buy fill-out shots for Annuals and corp-profiles by the dozens and every single month. I actually told them to use  SS way back in 2013.
Turns out they left SS in the beginning of this year for exactly the same reason as you mentioned. They keep bookmarking pictures/pages to go back on a later date and of course then when its all changed some twenty times they can't find anything.

Behind the scenes of SS and we will of course never know but I am sure they are in fact and in spite of all the glamorous maths losing customers.

their sales are ever increasing, they lose a few buyers, they gain a dozen back, bottom line, they are still growing, until they piss too many people off like IS and then it will the start of the end.

How can you loose a photo, if you bookmark direct link to that file?

Ok so today my portfolio went down 1,700 images are missing, has anyone who has experienced this had their images come back up or has SS explained whats going on?

They have clearly done something awful in "improving" the site.A search I've been monitoring over the last month or two that should return about 24K results now returns about 3.5K and my portfolio of just over 2K images shows as 384

Idiots

Yup. My portfolio went down too. This is becoming comical. But it's not that funny is it.

Glad it's not just me. OUt of 6,000+ I only see 99 in my portfolio.  :o

Someone at SS HQ must be eating too much free pizza and fell asleep on their treadmill. Their head it the delete button on our portfolios.

Me too, I can see only about 600 of my almost 10000 shots... but despite all of that, it's gonna be a record month for $$$.

Links with the image ID in them - like this one - work even though the image can't be found via a search or in my portfolio.

I don't know about the other link forms as I don't have any to hand.

I don't know if downloading would work as I don't have a buyer account to test it out.

Maybe we should all start re-uploading the photos that are missing?

They're still there - just temporarily hidden by broken code. No need to upload (they automatically check for images already in the portfolio and will reject if you try it)

I see you are right as now my images are showing again, lets hope they get this figured out soon, because although my images are up I have been trying different searches on SS and half the time it won't search and bring up anything. Which means our buyers are not getting the service they want which means they are going elsewhere!
