With so many contributing these days SS can afford to be fussy.

This looks like the future - It's going to push us all to raise our quality standards.

There is a limit how far the quality can be raise with only 25 cents per image...

Exactly. It is ridiculous if the agencies (mostly iStock) are searching our pictures with a microscope for teeny faults and then they sell them for a few cents in their bloody subscription plans.

may be it's time to pull out??

How do you think this is affecting overall sales and downloads?

My downloads also have decreased consistently since they implemented the OD feature, not much boost from new uploads either.

in my opinion by introdusing OD they destroy the inovativation of the site.

Once the customers could download 25 images per day, they ( customers) try to do so downloading images that they don't even want them at the moment just to build a portfolio.

As a conclusion of that (in my opinion) there were alot of downloads for photographers witch even with that tiny fee of some cents  make us some money overall by the end of the month.

The site get earnings by the non downloaded images then and every one was a bit happy i guess.

By OD there is no hurry to download images more than they (customers) want to use.

That's my opinion

I think you hit it. All the higher up agencies have been tightening the standards. Then what others have said, the volume of new photos and photographers, everywhere, means less exposure and less percentage of the total sales. More competition is changing things, just like subscriptions have lowered the pay per photo.

If it wasn't easy before, it's not getting any easier now. Lower pay per photo, more competition, more photos = lower income.

Istock suscription plan isn't bloody at all, it's great, the only one that gives you the same, or just tiny cents less, that it was a regular sale.
