Lisa, I know you mean well (and great pics btw :), but no, that is not the case. I am aware that this is not a site-wide problem.  Only a small subset of the contributors getting paid by check got their checks bounced.  The vast majority of the contribs got their payments fine.  That IS the major problem.  THere are quite a few of us, I got PMs on SS site from at least half a dozen in the same situation.  They also tried to get through to SS and are getting cut down.  I don't care that there are only a few of us who got affected, SS needs to fix their crap equally across the board, and waiting SIX MONTHS for a check is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE.

I completely agree - whether it's one, or dozens, or thousands, any contributor having to wait months for their payout is completely unacceptable.  I was just trying to search for a possible reason.  Best of luck getting paid ASAP.  :)

Don't feed the Angry Trolls. :D

capricornis, gbg2000, vanstock, I hope you take this with the helping intention. Why don't you just get a PayPal account. You have been selling photos since 2008 on many site. One SS message thread since 2008 and that one was calling reviews done by computer. Then you write, I am sure that one can find technical flaws in Ansel Adams pictures and content flaws in Cartier Bresson's, but lets be realistic, and try not to be perfectionists. Are you Ansel or Cartier in your own mind.

One thing thatmicro has spoiled me for is photo exhibitions. No matter how big the name, I keep finding myself thinking, "That'd never get onto iStock", even contermporary 'big names' with modern gear. Not that they'd need to consider selling on micros anyway.  ::)
I do try to shake off that 'limited' mentality before going into galleries.

RacePhoto: The troll are you. Don't reply to my threads anymore, please.

Batman: kudos for putting time to google me. I am not hiding who I am, though I don't like people gogling me to find something wrong with me, instead of answering my question, or just going away.  Why are there people like that?

Again, if you feel like you need to add your personal opinion and indignation here, go ahead, but this thread is about a very specific question relevant to a very specific subset of people..  Anything else is trolling

To the guy who gets paid every month by check: good for you bud, for having the time and motivation needed to build a portfolio that will get you a payment every month! However, I nether have that kind of time nor motivation, so I usually receive 1-2 checks per year, and the one from February is still not here (for real).

I believe his point was not that he gets paid every month, so much as that he hadn't experienced the problem you did back in January/February.  So not everyone who gets paid by check experienced the same thing.

That may not be a comfort to you, but from your OP I got the impression this was a well-known, sitewide problem.  If PPDD got all his checks, then maybe your case is isolated and there's something else going on with your account?

For example, do they have your up-to-date tax ID information?

Thanks Lisa for translating for this person! Indeed my point was to to show that checks have been consistently issued by the site in question over the time period in question. I hereby retract my seemingly-insulting help.

Are you confused ppdd? Lisa's help was in a completely different direction. I have no need of replies "it works fine for me", they don't help me at all. I am fully aware that this issue is NOT affecting the majority of contributors, thus unless you are in the small group that I am - ppl getting paid by check AND had the checks bounced in February - please keep your well-meaning help to yourself.

How difficult is that?

You asked a question. I was the only one who gave you a relevant answer. No one else here is paid by check.

You've got your boring answer to your boring question. No one can help you.

Ohhhhhhh... It never ends.. I should know better than to go against photographers egos.. they are big..

thanks again for your answer, ppdd, however, if you read the question better, you would have realized i asked the people who HAD problems with their cheques bouncing, not the people who hadn't...

And yes, plenty of people in my situation PMed me, so yes, people can help me, just not you :)

thanks again!

To all those who constantly scream "I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH XYZ"...please stop this. It is not constructive. We all know that most of us get paid regulary. I never had a problem too, but doing this in a problem focussed thread is like writing: "I never had a accident!" after someone asking how to deal with the insurance after he had a accident. Same goes for the paypal threads (Yes, paypal is causing LOTS of problems)....

Do you get paid by check? Just wondering if you are allowed to reply to the thread with gbg2000 setting his rules.
