Disappearing images is a glitch that's been going on awhile.  Right now I've got 14 images that were approved this past Monday then disappeared all together today so you're not the only one having that problem.  The $0 you see is because it's already October.  You would have to go into your stats page and select September from the drop down menu.

Anything else you need just ask Smiley

You are very welcome Smiley Can be confusing getting to know where things are on any site but there's always at least one person that will have the answer for you.

Thanks, Anita.  I had seven images accepted about ten days ago, but they have disappeared.  Do you think that's some computer glitch, or did they re-edit, change their mind, and not bother to tell me?

If they were accepted, it is a computer glitch. They normally don't change their mind after a couple of days.

Yeah it's a lovely computer database whatever glitch that causes images to disappear a few days after they're accepted and they stay disappeared for a few days too.  I'm hoping mine will show back up before my next review goes through.  I've never had an image accepted then turn around and get rejected don't think they've ever done that.  I remember reading a post from someone that had that happen but can't remember which site they were talking about.

Yes - disappearing act is back. Fortunately it seems that this time missing images can be found with keywords in Shutterstock database (not in our portfolio) and disappeared only from our portfolios. It was worse last time when the images were totally "unsearchable".

Huh?  I just checked one of mine and yeah it's searchable in the database just not in my port.  They're all there searchable in the collection hmmm...guess no one wants my new stuff since after they were approved this past monday Sad

Well not everyone's from Belgium, and many people don't need to speak four languages to be somewhere, and some people who are learning languages are in the early stages, for some it isn't their natural bent, some have very difficult or busy lives and don't have that much time to give to learning languages.

I'm sure there are a myriad of reasons as to why a person might not be fluently multi-lingual.  It's not compulsory for all, even though it appears to have been essential for you.

Was it seriously necessary to hijack captain's thread with nonsense?

Anyway...back on topic.  My missing images finally showed up on my main page and in my port.  Hopefully all the missing portfolio images of everyone having this issue with are over and are all showing up.

Well that's the end of that conversation then  Wink  Cheesy

Seriously though, thanks for being so gracious.  Smiley

As far as the actual topic goes - I must say that I tend to stop uploading to SS for a while when this glitch comes around again.  Is it just me or does it seem intermittent?

I really miss that initial burst of sales that occurs for new images when things are working perfectly.

Have SS ever said a word about this glitch?  I don't look at their forums much, but I've never even seen them acknowledge that it exists.

@Anita - glad yours are showing up again.  I too hope it's true for all.

@ Captain - best of luck to you, I hope this problem gets fixed permanently (for everyone's benefit) and that all goes well for you.

The only thing I've ever seen SS say about it is that they're sorry and they're working to resolve the issue, then come back on and say it's fixed only to have the same thing happen again the following week.

It's been a weekly thing for me that my newest ones that get approved disappear on Thursday or Friday then show back up on Sunday.  If it happens again this week I'll search the db to make sure that my stuff is still searchable and that the issue is only limited to not showing up in my port.  SS support has not been the best to deal with for the last year.  They used to be really good about getting back to us on technical issues but not so much now which is why I don't bother sending support emails anymore.  Not sure what's going on with that behind the scenes but I wish they could get it back to how it was back in 2010.

When this glitch appeared SS asked to be contacted - they wanted ids of missing images so they could fix it.
At the moment it doesn't make a sense to contact them because as for this issue they usually don't answer at all and if they do so - it's only general phrase that it may take up to 72 hour for image to be fully indexed. It would be fine if 72 hours would be common for all the images but it's obviously not.
Another thing is - and this is not a bug - that new images are searchable only if you sort images by date - newest or oldest - for "most popular" or "relevant" search it takes few days more.
