Title: Shutterstock didnt accept this model release, why?
Post by: nadalbg on January 20, 2017, 00:00

They also dont reply any emails I sent before 1 month so I dont want to write them.

"Model Release -- A model release is required for this image; or the attached model release does not meet our requirements, is illegible or additional model releases are needed."

From this it's hard to understand where is the problem.

I always contact them and they almost always tell me why.

but here are some possibilities:
- you should put your address and phone number on the release
- you should put the model's phone number on the release
- you should sign the release

this increases the chances your release will get approved

It could be that they want the release to be in the official language of the country. Some agencies require that but I don't recall if SS is one of them. But, they don't have a standard release in Indonesian in their MR list.

There also quite a few fields missing, for example:
Photographer address
Photographer signature

Date signed for model section.

On a side note, you might want to blur out personal information posted online or models may not want to work with you in the future.

It's okay, its my wife, but this is the release from 123rf, its written that SS accepts it.
And they dont provide any information why they dont accept it.

They updated their policy on model releases recently and didn't bother to announce it properly. The "accepted releases" hasn't been updated to reflect it yet.

This article should clarify it

Thanks,
now thanks to SS I need to sign another model release. I will see if I will bother for the 25 cents.

Shutterstock is not wrong. You did not include the most essential information - the FILE information. You know, those little digits? This is just a nice photo of your wife. Also not a good idea to post online a person's signature, photo, full name and full address. Criminals are having a feast with that information.

I deleted the photo, but I am not sure there is file information in model releases(I dont see such in shutterstocks' model release), I attach the model release to the appropriate file after upload with their web editor.

I have the same problem, two of my photos were rejected yesterday, and the attached model release is the one I've used several times before on SS.
I'm sure the release was correct filled out.
I downloaded the release from istock, it's an English version, but my model is a Chinese.
I resubmitted the photos again with the same model release, see what will happen.
