Shutterstock gives any of your images for free
fellowphotostocker:
Today I found the website newbielink:http://shutterdowner.com/ [nonactive]
It allows you to get 1000px wide non-watermarked image from any shutterstock item.
Here's simple example:
newbielink:http://api-download.shutterstock.com/gatekeeper/W3siZSI6MTUwMjgyMjI4NCwiZCI6InNodXR0ZXJzdG9jay1tZWRpYSIsImsiOiJwaG90b1wvNjk2Mzc1OTEwXC9tZWRpdW0uanBnIiwibSI6MH0sIkE4aWdOV0h3WW1hbExLV0JEVEhUWWMxcHRBRSJd/shutterstock_696375910.jpg?token=exp=1502822284~acl=/gatekeeper/W3siZSI6MTUwMjgyMjI4NCwiZCI6InNodXR0ZXJzdG9jay1tZWRpYSIsImsiOiJwaG90b1wvNjk2Mzc1OTEwXC9tZWRpdW0uanBnIiwibSI6MH0sIkE4aWdOV0h3WW1hbExLV0JEVEhUWWMxcHRBRSJd/shutterstock_696375910.jpg [nonactive]*~hmac=453f923d0e62f863ab45db0d6e66338589c32e55
As I can see from the link it leverages Shutterstock's API service. Simple googling showed me being right:
newbielink:https://www.earngurus.com/download-shutterstock-images/ [nonactive]
As far as I can understand any of Shutterstock's API deals (like deal with FB or Google) creates an exploit to download our images for free, with no compensation. Ever. what???

It was already discussed few weeks back:

Not sure when SS will fix it.

Thank you. I haven't seen that thread. It has been one month since the issue was discovered and discussed. Nothing has changed.
There's no wonder anymore why our sales are in decline. Shutterstock not only encourages 000' of new contributors to upload millions of poor similar images and spam the search but also has no interest in closing backdoors in its tech.
One simple search for how to download shutterstock images for free provides you with tens of options to choose from.
Very upset. Is there any official response from Shutterstock?

I think that one thing to do is to send a tweet to @jonoringer
Another thing it to write about it on the Shutterstock Facebook page > https://www.facebook.com/Shutterstock/
Of course if only one or two persons will do it it will have no effect, but if we are 10…100… 1000…
(But as always, people will lament… and do nothing… You want to bet?)
cathyslife:
In the past, people HAVE done more than lament, but the thieves pop up faster than we can find them. And the sites don't seem to care about stopping the thieves.
I can only suggest what has already been suggested...if you find your images stolen and being given away, contact the agency and complain. Unless I find my own images being stolen, I can't complain on anyone else's behalf. And in the past, I have joined the movements and fought for the cause, and here we are 10 years later with the same problem. There are lots of newbies jumping in to make their millions in microstock...they are going to have to take up the cause to fight the thieves, too.
