So this increase to $0.36 per download. I'm assuming it will have 0% effect on the sale of videos, which account for 100% of my earnings... and 100% effect on the sale of images, which account for 0% of my earnings? Happy days!

Unlike for the poor relation category of images, footage was something SS wanted to encourage and build up, so all video netted 30% (as opposed to the sales-based rates for other image types)

If they ever change the rate schedule as video matures, having reached these levels may be helpful at that point.

You got some really great and relevant footage!! and space should be a seller for sure! Why bother with these penny sites?  why dont you go via a production-company instead?
Get a show-reel going! :)

Thanks! Well it;s $79 a clip on SS with 30% commission so it could be worse. I make a lot more on Pond5 and Videoblocks.

I'm far too lazy to approach production companies as they'd want me to do work and meet deadlines and need stuff that I;d be scratching my head at... but some production companies use my stuff via stock sites to save time and money. Doctor Who, House of Cards, Curiosity Stream, a trailer for a Tom Hanks movie, a TV show here and there etc etc.

Feel free to check out my latest reel here...

Not that I know of! Difficult to always know who is using what though.... I've stumbled across most of my work 'in the wild' by accident.

I'm lost - where is the 'raise' in this thread? What are we talking about exactly?

Ok I checked it but I can't see any changes. Have they changed anything that I am missing?

I'm just on about the change from one tier to the next. The tiers are the still same... but I'm a person changing from one to another, so wanted to check if it changed anything to do with video. Unfortunately not.

You're right on Salvation though Semmick... thanks for the heads up!

Looked at your portfolio for the first time a while. Love your work. It just keeps getting better!
Not surprised it keeps showing up everywhere.

What software are you using for modelling and rendering? Are your vehicles and so on all made by you or licensed from 3d stock sites?

Thanks! Use C4D mainly. Models: I sometimes hire somebody to make them for me if I need something soecific.... if they're simple I'll sometimes make them myself, but most of the time I buy them. Saves a load of time and they usually look a lot better than I could do. Mainly get them from CG Trader as their license allows renders for stock. The one in the image above is from the Daz 3D shop.

You make me wish I hadn't given up C4D many years ago. I really enjoyed making models in it but hated all the camera work, learning the plugins for particle stuff and lighting etc. Just the opposite to you I guess!
Keep up the good work, I'll be keeping an eye on TV shows for your work now.

Yeah I render in C4D then import to AE for backgrounds, colour correction, particles, finishing touches and the like.

Hi SpaceStockFootage, I have a question please: do you mean we can get any 3d model from CG trader, make some animation, and sell them on a stock sites? I work with E3D in After effects, so my question is if I bought a 3d Model and make some animation, making a background, and color correction could I sell them like mine in shutterstock and other stock sites without any problem?!! thank you in advance
