Hi, I included a friend through a referral link he bought a $239 single project package and, a HD video of $79, but I did not have any benefit from it. Is the referral program Shutterstock working at all?

SS has 2 types of referral codes. If the referral link contains the letters "rid", this is a referral for buyers. If the referral link contains the letters "ref", this is a referral link for contributors. What type of link did your friend click on?
Also if he had visited ss on the same computer before he clicked on your referral link, ss should be able to know this from cookies and you probably won't get any referral income.

I earn money from both types of referals. Some from a portion of a sale of another person's photos, which is about 2 cents per sale, and I get referals that vary from a few dollars to perhaps 10 dollars for 'subscription'. I have no earnings from the 'footage' type of referal.
