I only have a few images there, and haven't uploaded for a little bit, but they are my best seller still.

HI!
i'm pretty new to stock, i've found shutterstock to be great, i have 90 pics and get about 5-15 downloads a day, around 70 of these pics are just old ones I had on my harddrive - they dont seem to do too well, i've noticed a small increase with the few shots i've submitted especially for stock, which has really encouraged me.  That said, I'm getting A LOT rejected at istockphoto for really lame reasons, I'm thinking of not bothering with them in the future.  Anyways, thats enough from me. I cant wait to see this community grow.

All the best
mark

Hi there mark.  Welcome here.

Yeah, I find that istock is hard to submit photos to.  They have so many, and are really selective now.  However I think dreamstime is even harder to get into.  However, back to istock, I find their upload process very laboursome.. it is very borderline if it is worth while to upload to them, but I have been continuing to do so recently.

Shutterstock however, always gets my uploads first.  I make about 3X more on shutterstock than I do any other stock site.

On another note mark, If you haven't checke out fotolia allready I would sudjest you do so.

Fotolia Link

They have been somewhat slow in the past but seem to be really picking up.  They also offer a 20 cent bonus for every accepted upload.  Which is a nice compensation for spending the time uploading (something I think other stock agencies should think about Smiley

cheers leaf!
I've just started fotolia as well, Although sales a slow (at the moment) I really like its layout. I tend to submit everything to shutterstock first, if its not accepted there I'll can it! I've been doing is three months so far.
I have $65 at shutterstock
$6.40 at istock
$5 at dreamstime
A pretty stark contrast I'm sure you'll agree!

Yeah to echo everything here....

I send to shutterstock first.  I have had some really good download days there (for me anyhow)

I love Shutterstock!
Sales are fantastic! Easy upload and review time is reasonable.
I think of all the sites I upload to Shutterstock feels like home the most! Smiley

Most of my photos on Shutterstock are editorial in nature.  Even so, I'm closing in on 1000 images.  Majority are concerts or sporting events.  A small selection of 'stock' images (which also made dreamstime, fotolia, and bigstock).

All in all, very good sales rate.  Just missed my second payout (a few cents short in Nov).  Been with them since July.  I can see it becoming a very profitable site once I get more stock worthy images up.

Hi all

As a newbye after reading this thread I fell very HAPPY.

My first sale at SS was on the 10 November. My portfolio as 49 images, and I've had 249 sales until now. So far my best site.
