Shutterstock's Stories program will begin accepting submissions on July 18 and close on August 14, 2013. During the grant selection process, a panel of jurors will review video and text entries from Shutterstock contributors and select 5 regional grant recipients ($5,000 each), and one global winner ($25,000). The public will also have the opportunity to select a People's Choice Winner to receive $25,000.

My story is quite boring and I am not a video maker, so no. I wouldnt expect to win anything anyway as I am your run in the mill amateur.

"By entering the contest, you also agree to all terms and conditions, and permit us to use any portion of your video for promotional and advertising purposes."

I couldn't find the terms and conditions but I suspect this will be an inexpensive way to advertise, the hook being the money, but only a few getting it.  The rest still have to agree to the terms & conditions (whatever those are) which gives SS a menu of opportunities to advertise.  Not saying right or wrong, but the more entries the lower the odds.  The work you put in, if you don't win, goes unrewarded other than the possible opportunity they will use your video to promote their business.  I would never win so I aint wasting my time. But those that do enter with a clear understanding of what they are getting in to, thank you. You help to promote the business.

Unfortunately, this describes me also. But $25k is tempting and SS's video promoting the contest is inspiring. However, the first person to comment on the post and announce his intention to compete is Mike Ledray. I would have no hope of topping his story.
