I get so many requests for color changes on the orange men (on other sites) I wanted to see about uploading six color versions on SS.

Is this possible? I'd be surprised if it is, but I figured I'd check.

Thanks,

Leo

You can get away with it as long as you don't upload the same image with 2 different colors in the same batch.
(ex. upload the orange version, it gets accepted. then upload a blue version, it gets accepted.)

If you do it to your whole gallery it will be obvious though.

Ok, just to be clear, because I really do avoid breaking the rules -- especially with SS. They are a huge income for me.

166 orange men. X 6 versions. Thats a LOT of illos. I'm happy uploading the separate versions in separate batches BUT I want to make sure this is not an exploit.

It would just be for the orange men, not my whole portfolio.

Are we talking about vectors?
I don't do color versions with vectors, customers can change the colors themself. Besides, it makes your portfolio look less interesting. Customers can become irritated if they are looking for something and the same file keeps popping up all the time.

Now we are talking about SS; I had a download today from my newest vector that isn't visible in my portfolio yet and can't be found with the search engine either. Anybody knows how that is possible?

(sorry for being offtopic, didn't want to make a thread about it)

I'd go for it, the worst they'll do is refuse them, but I reckon they'll pass.
(NB. another example of SS not bothering to reply to contributors emails grrrrrrrrr)

Shutterstock offers the EPS file only, just like Istock does. And this is Istock's policy:

I can't speak for SS, but they might feel the same about this issue.

Other sites like DT and StockXpert sell JPG's and EPS files from the same image, so it makes more sense to upload different color versions there.

Thanks guys,

It looks like I've found a much better alternative than stuffing my portfolio on existing stock sites. Thank you for your imput!
