Your all laughing your way to the bank while the bank is going to take away my house if I don't make more sales  :-\
Don't dispair.  It will be your turn again soon. :D

SS - slow at the beginning of nov. but the last two days were fantastic with consistant EL's and big SOD's.....biggest disappointment is FT  this month( my 2nd earner ).

Same here __ sales at SS have been going ballistic for the last couple of days, particularly those chunky SOD's. I think I am currently having my BDE there and there's still quite a few hours to go too!

Me three. Lots of Single sales and OD. It does make me wonder what would happen if you just turned off sub sales. And before anyone yells at me... It's just a random musing or curiosity and not a suggestion.

Yes but maybe we should be cautious with three day euphoria?  according to some, maybe its a glitch or a bug?  but SS is definetely doing something weird with their sort-order and on a day to day basis it seems.

I think it has something to do with these new Public Sets.  I have been selling things that haven't had any action for a very long time . . . . .  but are now part of Sets.

I've learnt to always be cautious lately where stock is concerned and just enjoy the good days while we get them.

I only put my sets up yesterday.  My BDe was the day before that.

I have a standard set of five or six images that sell everyday. For the first few days this week sales were generated from images I had never sold before with SS and the "daily sales" images stopped selling. Today its back to normal.

A very good month by the way but I've always felt "how are your sales" topics are much like comparing apples to oranges. My portfolio is probably very different from yours. I almost think "Microstock Group" should include a short subject description under everybody's pseudonym. "Landscapes", "Portrait", "Commercial", etc. That way if someone has a similar category I can make a more accurate comparison.

My sales this month on a very general port have typically been one or two days when things are way up - then way way way down for the next few. Really odd variation. And nothing new moving.

In my 7 years of doing stock I don't remember ever seeing such large fluctuations on a daily basis on all of the big 4.

The Big 4 are doing fine for me just now... SS is exceptional, iStock and DT are up, and even FT is doing better than usual.  Other than that, only 123RF is performing for me.  Everywhere else is pretty dead.

Thanks to the increases at the Big 4 (particularly SS), I'm seeing an overall increase even with the drops from middle tier and below.

Agree 100%, all of them are doing fine. Is,  is really coming back, the last three days have produced great results for an indie that is, cant believe it really. DT, same thing.

The same happened with my port at SS. Real strange and It seems they're messing with search results on a daily basis.

The trouble is. You cant upload with this changing of sort. The ones that did ( according to their forum) had disaster, images ended up way, way back.

Thats nothing new.

If your new pictures took off when they were new or if they were burried, has been more or less random in the last couple of years.
Then keywords and concepts become more important.

Nah it depends on what you upload. Sure lots of generic, middle of the road stuff, fair enough but if you start uploading special, nieched material, believe me you dont want to see that burried in the sand. Too difficult and hard to come by.

Im a niche photographer if anybody is.
Nische stuff still gets burried, and then slowly works its way up.- if its good enough.

Contrary to the old days, 3 years ago, when you could photograph anything and sell a lot of new pics when they showed up in the searches.

November starting off to be another great month at SS. This year, they have rallied to old levels for me. Until today, which is slower than a weekend.

from the overall earnings chart I can see that the last week (11 of Nov) was the 2nd worst week of the last 6 months

True!  worst week ever almost and for everybody.

I think I stay away from these sets. Couple of friends at SS did these sets, etc and all of a sudden their earnings went right down and these guys have big ports and I mean BIG.

Not true, it was probably my best week ever.
I thought that you were one of the others that had loads of SOD sales last week,

I don't see how doing the sets can possible lower your sales!!!!

The last 5 days include the days when there were loads of Sod's.  The 12th, 13th and 14th were the good days.

Well what happend is obvious. For some reason as everybody have noticed over there, they are somehow changing their search-algorithm and it seems to be on a daily basis.

Im not sure if its just pure coincidecne or whatever but since this IPO business, small changes here and there are beginning to creep into their system.
Oh well so far they are the best, no doubt about that but it wouldnt surprise me if there are some big changes coming.
