My earnings total is still showing April's amount plus May's two days' worth.  Anyone else?  I sent them a message and am expecting a timely reply  ::)

Its two days late can't you find something a little more significant to stress about?

It's a minor issue and easily worked around, but it's indicative of constant and growing bugs there over the last few months.

And since it happens most months and is fixed at random times, it suggests that the fix is manual, which at a tech company would be inexcusable. It's two lines of code. Fix it

It usually takes at least a day to roll over. So it's gone one more day........ More odd is the complete absence of sales many are reporting in the last week, including myself. Something seems weird with the reporting.

I agree that operationally it's not that big a deal, but they are running programs on a computer. Not knowing what day it is when the code is a simple true/false statement like:
return dateToday.getDayOfMonth() == 1;
is odd to me.

The fact that it happens at random times is completely mind boggling. If something that simple isn't running correctly and hasn't for many months, then missing sales is not surprising.

Running buggy software with no apparent expertise in house to fix it is troubling.

What you don't know is Shutterstock is written in COBOL. They're still busy trying to patch for Y2K. But I kid.

There is another post going saying that the paypal addresses have been deleted from the account settings.  I went and added mine back in yesterday and my total has gone down so it looks like I've been paid.  Check and see if yours is still there.  I guess if there is no address it won't have been sent.

My Paypal address seems to  be  present and correct and my account balance, unchanged since late last week, is above the set threshold, . No payout so far.

Check that thread above. I got an email from SS saying that my paypal address has always been blank, that if it is blank, they just use my email address listed right above that as the paypal address. See the full quote from them in the link above.

Totally agree. I've been it this stock stuff for two years and not once did I email any of the agency.

I've been at this stock stuff for 12 years, and when something that has happened correctly every payday for me all of a sudden doesn't happen, you'd better believe I am going to email support. You might think money is trivial, but I need it to pay bills. When all else fails, belittle someone.  ;)

this is about the earnings not updating at the start of the new month, that always takes a while, it is not about not getting paid, so yes, trivial stuff

It has NEVER not updated for me on the first of the month, so no, still not trivial stuff, for me anyway. Yours and dumbc's comments came right after my post having to do with SS's answer to my post on their forum, so i assumed you two were talking abouto me. If you weren't, you should quote who you are belittling so everyone knows.  ;)

I programmed computers for 30 years and can't think of a single program, including before, during and after the Y2K nonsense, that didn't know what day it was if time was a factor. There is no excuse for this issue, trivial or not, to go on month after month. It's one line of code. If they allow for all time zones, it should happen 24 hours after GMT worst case. The fact that it occurs at random times each month indicates that it is a manual process which is silly.

So does it happen month after month or is this a first time? To be honest I seem to remember than most months it takes a day or two and I've always been paid well before the 15th which I believe is their target date. Compared with the tardy reporting of the likes of Istock I really don't understand what the issue is.

For me, this is the first time ever my earnings rolled over to May and didn't zero out, even though I reached payout amount. Apparently this happens to other people all the time.

It only zeroed out after I contacted support. Maybe it would have corrected itself regardless, but something still isn't right because I still haven't gotten the pre-payment email yet, either. That usually comes a day or two after the first of the month. When something works one way for 12 years, then one day it works differently, I believe it deserves a question to support.

Fair enough I do respect your concerns but I think I would wait until about the 8th.......I just try not to get stressed about the generally poor standards across the board on reporting etc. As I've said before on here SS do fantastically well compared with most sites by being merely competent.

And this is why I rarely visit this forum anymore, and post comments/questions almost never. Stock photography isn't just a fun little hobby for me, it pays my bills.  So if there is a problem with my account not updating properly for the first time in 11 years, you better believe I will email them.

I finally got the payment notification, now I am just waiting for the actual payment. Things seem to be running a little slow this month, compared to how things usually work for me.

edit: see, it pays to post here...payment just came through! (not sure this post did it though  :) )

Got my payout today as usual.  Didn't even have to worry over it, write support,  or jump through any hoops.  They've always paid on time.  Why stress over it before the fact?

Good for you! Guess I am just on a tighter household budget than some of you. Stress about it? No, I didn't. Just asked support a question. Problem resolved. I prefer to get my facts straight from the horses mouth (SS support) as opposed to just relying on this forum.  :)

And when someone needs real help from support, it has to wait weeks for answers because their e-mail is flooded with histerical people, when payment is 2 days late.

I have never felt as if sending an email to support with a question was a bother, and they have never treated me like it was. Sorry the same doesn't apply to you people who are so bothered by the fact that I (and others) sent an email and got a prompt response. You should lodge a complaint with SS instead of moaning and groaning here. Oh wait, that IS your MO after all.  ;)

And speaking of beating a dead horse, this one's been beaten to death by you fellows. I am out.  :)

you are neurotic if you have to send an email to support for a payment that is not even late, considering they pay on the 7th, 8 days early, it was on a weekend, and they never pay on a weekend, so you could expect it to be a bit later than the 7th and still before the 15th. you got paid on the 9th, still 6 days early. i do get annoyed by that yes, because replies from support start with, apologies for the late reply we are experiencing a high number of emails

My account zeroed out ok this month. I didn't quite make my set payout limit, so my balance carried over. Are you expecting a payout, Stockmaan? If yes, I wonder if this is only happening to people who are getting a payout, since I had the same problem last month when I was expecting a payout.

SS is probably drowning in "Why haven't I received my payment yet" emails.

Mine has always reset on the first of the month, but I'm above the threshold this month and it hasn't reset. At first I was hopeful that I had a run of ELs at the start of the month but no such luck. I'm sure it will adjust soon. My PayPal address is still showing in my account settings.

I miss the days when the daily tweets & FB posts would go out showing one of the images you sold that day - I'd always get repeat sales on the image shown, and lots of comments on FB, as well as some assignments through it. That was easy marketing for them and us, but it's another simple thing that has been broken for years.

Happy to see SS back up over 100 this month in the polls, things seem to be picking up over there but I'm still earning less most months than I did when I had half as many images, though this past month my graph started moving noticeably upward again, so fingers crossed the trend will continue. I can wait a few days for payout if earnings are improving. I usually see payment on the 6th or 7th of the month, so I'm not overly concerned about this latest glitch.

It's not a glitch. Paypal didn't get some kind of permission from Turkish financial authorities that would allow them to do business in Turkey so SS is trying to figure out, how to pay Turkish contributors.

I did!  ;)

Why?  They said they would take care of it on May 3 by 5pm EDST and they did.  At least my earnings have been updated as of that time today and I assume that applies to most everyone else who have been in the same situation, apart from those few who may have some unique situation, of course, which we will likely all hear about somewhere in the forums shortly.
