Title: ...tonight, SS search engine isn't functional...
Post by: Neurobite on November 15, 2018, 17:06
...tonight, SS image search isn't functional, nor contributor's galleries are visible, any ideas why and for how long?
Never experienced this before...

I just did a search and was able to see my whole portfolio, including my sets. Things seemed about normal in responsiveness too.

I'm in Western Washington, USA, in case this is a regional thing

...thanks a lot! Yes, I hope it is a regional malfunction... :) we are almost midnight in Germany, they might resetting something, otherwise, it is quite strange feeling not seeing anymore your portfolio... :)

I had the issue briefly, then it returned to normal.

With the upcoming holiday season, I'm reminded of the good old days when Shutterstock used to send Christmas cards to their top contributors...showing appreciation for their work rather than suppressing their sales to please investors. The good old days, when the site worked flawlessly almost all the time, they had standards for accepting work and if you did good work you made it to page one in the search results because buyers could actually find your stuff.

I feel so old and tin-foil-hatted now.

...yes, now I know who to blame - upcoming holiday season! :) The good thing is that while I am posting this massage I have sells, so my images are available somehow to customers, unless there is a delay ~ 30-60 min between a customer's buy and registered contributor's sell, so that these sells were made before my portfolio has disappeared... :) God knows what to think, and no postcards, neither warnings from SS... :)

...luckily, with cup of coffee, it came to normal this morning... it was just a server glitch! :)

...hahaha, maybe, but I haven't gained this knowledge yet... :) What I meant by "normal" as it was before the glitch... :)
