I'm just curious, does anybody have their e-mail visible, when customer clicks on your port and did any of you have made any deals bypassing shutterstock?

I've seen some ports when contributors had their e-mail on display and was wondering, if it's worth it...

I've heard of some direct custom images requests but this is unlikely to be a usual thing. It's also unlikely that some customer would try to save some money that way. Small buyer would save only couple of dollars this way and major buyer wouldn't mess with direct requests since stock pictures cost is nothing in some big project. Legal clearance and proper paper work are more important to them.
Another case might be video sales. But as far as I can remember there is no email mentioning on artist video sales page :)

I've had people ask which fonts I'm using so they can match them, and the occasional person who wants custom work but of course "has no budget." I've given up being polite to the latter and don't respond to them any more.

Right answer is ignore. If you do, it can be like some others have been doing. Ask if they work for free and if not, why do they expect us to work for promises and exposure. You are right. People want free work and make up stories why we will get something later. Usually never happens.

I've never gotten an email from a buyer, I have a website with my same name, they could find me easily. Must be that email comes from the agency because they don't want us working direct with anybody or listing our website of email on the account.
