If you look at the top of the site under Polls you'll see the option to 'submit vote' .. to submit your earnings amounts for last month and 'history graph' .. showing you the ranking history of the various sites - the current rank is what is showing on the sidebar on the right.

I had it set to 7 months of history previously but have increased it now to 12 months.

I think we can see some definite trends.  Shutterstock is going up, iStock is going down and DepositPhotos is bouncing like a yo-yo

Thanks for tracking all of this.  Will you eventually put Istock exclusive on the chart as well?  Would be interesting to see.

I don't know that I will.  Adding them to the graph would just reduce the size of the other lines and make it hard to read.  It would also add some confusion as it isn't totally self explanatory that you'd need to add up all the other sites to figure out the correct comparison for an istock exclusive.  If anything, I'd add it to a separate chart..

Agree it would  compress the other lines, so a separate chart would make sense.  Given that it is one of the most hotly debated topics going, maybe that separate chart could just be comparing istock exclusive and the sum of all the independents.  Would make for fun conversations.  ;D ::)

On the History Graph.

I'm thinking of being able to see the exclusive Istock poll numbers in a chart rather then just the number from the last month.

Perhaps I don't understand something with the History Chart. Should it not be the end of month figure from the MSG site side panel? Today I look at the chart and find SS at 47.39 for January but the side panel says 74.9. IS on the Jan chart is 14.85 and the side bar 37.8. It's been a few hours since the month changed but I have a hard time thinking this is the issue. What do I not understand?

Leaf replied to site mail......
The reason for this is simply that the numbers in the graph are for each individual month while the numbers on the right are a three month average.

Ouch! The chart therefor shows December as a sales disaster!

sorry for not seeing this thread.  You are right Dec is down (as usual) and the numbers on the right are a three month avg.  I have plans to allow the user to select how many months to put in the graph.. which would be nice so you can see how it was last Dec as well

I am puzzled about the monthly figures of the graph. For example,  the graph shows, as I write, Shutterstock Feb-14 as 65.97. I'm fairly certain that the graph updated to show that February figure as soon as February ended. How is  it possible that figures for February were available so quickly when people who contribute their sales figures to the poll don't do so until several days or more into the next month. The chart doesn't seem to change from one month end to the next, so what does that example of figure of 65.97 for Shutterstock in February actually represent and how is it obtained so soon after the month end?

Bump - can anybody shed light on this question for me?

Im sorry for the dumb doubt, but how we don't have legend for the number axis, just to make sure these numbers are the income avarage in us$, right?
Maybe it would be interesting to know also the number of the votes for each agency to have an idea how the average was based. It would be placed on the agency labels on the right.
