Title: iStock vs. Getty in Poll
Post by: Stock Wife on October 11, 2016, 15:58
Hi everyone-

We only have images available through Getty via iStock and their partner portal. So far, I have been lumping 'getty' sales in with the general iStock sales. Is that what everyone else does? Getty sales fluctuate a lot but some months, they make it look like iS is working way better for us than normal.

I keep Getty and Istock separate. My istock portal is 120 photos and a few dozen videos. My Getty portal is 8000 exclusive images

I never try to understand the logic that stays behind our images being sold on getty via Istock...is such an esoteric matter to me

I report all income that comes through the iS payment system. That includes the iS images on Getty.

I don't report anything because I noticed that my vote don't show up in the poll... Same number of vote and same rating before or after I vote... >_>

I think it takes a while for the poll figures to update with the latest votes, it doesn't happen immediately.

Yeah, I think it takes a few hours to update.

It's gone down (exclusives) 11 points since the last time I looked, which was admittedly a few days ago. Actually, the indy rating has dropped quite a few points as well.

But I don't even have a port on iStock, I'm directly under contract with GI so I vote under GettyImages only. And it should have raised the rating..

Whoops, sorry didn't read the thread carefully enough.
Still, I think there has been some sticking in the poll this month. At the beginning of previous months, the ratings have changed quickly - sometimes more than once a day. This month, I noticed the poll didn't change after I'd done mine, nor after a friend had done his a few days later. I only noticed the figures had changed (for iS) after I read your post.

As for myself, my vote never counted... I must have voted 4 or 5 months and nothing so I gave up.. :/
