Ok, a new little toy

If you go to your profile page.
http://www.microstockgroup.com/profile/

You will see something called MicrostockGroup Ranking. It will hopefully encourage us to upload better and faster

... if we want a little motivation - or at least give us an idea of how we are doing. It is simply how your upload count and sales compares to the other members on MicrostockGroup. The ranking only includes those members who have entered their iStock and Dreamstime information into their Forum Profile Information.

So for example, if it says
Dreamstime
Sales 100/525
Uploads 123/525

That means that 99 people (out of 525 people) have more sales than you on Dreamstime, and 122 people (out of 525) have more uploads than you.

If it says N/a that means you haven't entered your user information in the Forum Profile Information area

Once you have entered your information, you will also be included in the ranking list

I don't understand what the numbers mean - I'm sorry if I'm being dense.

xx/yy for both uploads and downloads. 31/442 is what mine says for uploads. I don't recognize either of those numbers

yeah, Yuri would be, but he hasn't entered his user info. Right now Sean is in first place for iStock. I haven't check who has first place for Dreamstime.

wow that's fantastic! the best thing about it is how easy it is now to compare how well your images are performing. If sales position is higher than upload position (irrespective of absolute rank) then you know you are doing something right!

Yeah that is right Microbius. It could also have to do with the length of time you have been on Dreamstime. However your sales to uploads position is very good so I would have to think it is more than just time online. I on the other hand am doing better on uploads than sales - in addition to being online for quite a while giving me lots of chance to get downloads. What that means: I have too much crap in my portfolio!

OUCH!! I'm being ignored. That hurts. Sorry to have offended someone. Huh

Not a factor at DT, but not disappointed in the overall placement. Not looking to increase ... my upload/rejection ratio is too low to get much uploading done. Hope buyers will find the stuff that is there.

look at your profile and it tells you out of how many people the ranking is.

Interesting, I'm middle of the pack at istock which is higher than I would have thought. Dreamstime is about where I would expect it to be.

i just noticed that my is rank dropped 10 places over this thanksgiving weekend. Shocked

haha, yeah I bet lots of people are uploading this weekend. with the extra time off. I stopped uploading to Shutterstock so that my images don't get drowned

I'll continue again next week - although the reviewers will probably be a bit backlogged
