I used to think that this was a free speach forum but I don't feel comfortable here, I don't like the way some people attacck just for giving an opinion. I can't stand forum discussions, sorry. so PLEASE I'm asking politely if the admin can cancel my account since I really feel that I have nothing useful to bring here

Thank you very much

Because I want to remove my account, that's all. What's the problem? I'm just a hobbyst microstocker, I don't want to be involved in any conspiracy theories about saying something about the big or praising the small ones. I'm not any site owner, just was giving my opinion.

Exactly how is it simply an "opinion" to be questioning the financial stability of a company, referring to questionable, undocumented evidence that people aren't being paid?  Those are allegations, not opinions.

By the way, yelling "FIRE" in a building to create panic would also not be an opinion, and would not be considered free speech.

In fact, spreading lies about a person or organization is called libel and could get you into serious legal trouble.

...that this was a free speach forum...

This is a free speach forum. And that also means that you should be able to accept the fact that others have different opinion.
Disagreement is not a attack.

Ok, I just shared an opinion read on SS forum. Since I'm not a pro I prefer to keep my opinions on myself. I would like to cancel my account, please. Tired of forums, really. I will just limit to shoot and upload

It will cost you 50 bucks to close your account and then we want some interest as well.

Unfortunately, he will keep any royalties you have collected, as you have not reached the minimum payout.

I kind of like that people don't sugarcoat their opinions on this forum. Yeah, it means that sometimes people are mean and nasty to each other, but there is something honest about that. I post a lot less here now because there are a lot of trivial arguments that I really don't want to be involved in, but there still is some useful info wrapped up in all the bickering.  ;D

I suppose you are right, cthoman, it's me, I just hate discussion through a computer, so I prefer to run away from anything related to arguments in forums. Don't know, I suppose it's my problem. This forum can be read without being registered, so since I'm not interested in participating any more, I wil keep reading useful information

Perhaps at the bottom of all this there is a nugget of info worth exploring.  I dug around in the SS forum and found a thread in which a handful of people are saying they haven't been paid for the past few months.  Not much detail to go on in terms of figuring out whether there is a real trend.

But here's the real problem with sharing this information in a forum to create alarm.  If 10,000 people are supposed to get checks every month and one person posts that his didn't arrive, then another two or three see it and say the same thing, suddenly it looks like an epidemic when in reality it could just be a very minute number of cases.  (Anyone who has ever coordinated large mailings will tell you that a few undelivered pieces out of a huge number of envelopes is hardly unusual.)

It boils down to this... we have no real facts... just a few people who say they haven't been paid.  Hardly enough to start yelling FIRE in a crowded building.

Tempusfugit - stick around. Some of us actually enjoy reading all sorts of wild thoughts and opinions and don't necessarily regard ourselves as people of great importance.

Hey Tempusfugit.  Don't leave.  Just put it down to experience.   Sometimes it's a bit tetchy in here for other reasons.  I'm sure no-one meant to hurt your feelings.

I could set my clock to ShutterStocks payouts, never a single problem, and the sales are skyrocketing so I doubt they are in financial troubles.

I don't know the history.  I'm just wondering why the need  to "close an account".  Just don't log in.  Or don't come back.

Your account has been closed as you requested.  A shame to see you go.  No matter what anyone says on a topic, someone else is going to take the other side and express their opinion.  With so many people in a conversation there is always going to be a lot of opinions.

Feel free to open another and start again if you wish.  Just because you are logged in, doesn't mean you have to post.. unless of course you want to.

Maybe the reason these people are reporting not being paid is because they have not submitted their W-9. I just got a e-mail asking to submit mine and in the e-mail it clearly says

"For compliance reasons, we're required to have a completed W-9 form from you on file so we can process a 1099 tax form at the end of the year and provide you with a copy for your own tax reporting. The 1099 form will indicate your total income from Shutterstock for the year and is also filed with the IRS. For this reason, we cannot process any payments to you until we have your completed W-9 on file."

So that could be the reason for the rumor starting over in the Shutterstock forum...

It could also be they didn't reach minimum payout.

Just My Opinion ... ;D

They definitely don't sugarcoat them  :D  they embed small shards of glass in them

I have noticed the anonymous people are meaner. Prison guards had their mirrored aviators taken away for exactly this reason.
