Sorry, but: IMO the font absolutely sucks.

Especially the quotes in italic are a pain for my eyes, and the plain white background plus a neon green left border don't help at all. Certainly not every designer's first choice ...

Perhaps Arial or Tahoma or Georgia are oldschool, but at least they are easy to read.

Oh, and a dark grey background with a black font ain't good for the posting previews ... :)

http://editcss.mozdev.org/installation.html

This is a plugin for Firefox that let's you modify CSS on any website to suit your own desires.  You could proto the exact specs you'd like to see and send them on to everyone. I don't think we have a lot of CSS experts on hand here (i'm sure Leaf isn't by trade) so if you say what you want instead of don't want it would be a pretty easy sell I think.

Wow, one of out monitors is way out of calibration.  The green left border on the quote box is quite subdued on my screen, ant the "dark grey" background elsewhere is a soft bluish/gray for me.  And, the line in your message where you specified arial font, looks the same as the others on my screen.

Strange.

Ok, agreed - it's not neon. But in a pretty-close-to-all-kinds-of-gray context it's still quite disturbing. :)

Here's a snapshot of the article preview:

And the dark gray behind the "Ok, agreed ..." line is ~R67G67B67 which is ~75% black, not bluish but simply dark gray ...

Then either your browser cannot handle Arial or your monitor is broke. :)

I guess we are all seeing something different? My background reads 235/235/235 (from screenshot)

yeah, i'll try and work on this a bit today. That dark grey bacgkround an black text was a mistake when i was trying to fix the CSS a little.  I also didn't like the green and white quoting colors - which is what i was trying to fix when i introduced those bad preview colors:)

Ok, fixed a few more things, including the font in quotes.  Let me know of any more problems.

well no, not neccesarily.  It was just built off the last template and then when i switched things got really messed up... so i will have to fix it first.

Looks much better than before! :)

I do wish that threads by default opened up with the first post instead of the last post though. Most of the time I'm reading threads for the first time, not keeping up with old ones so ... Like this one I clicked it and started on the third page.

Maybe because I am a frequent reader, I prefer newer posts on top.

Yeah they to to the last unread post I'd are at least suppsed to. If they went to the first post you would have to reposition the thread every time.
