Thread ignore button

I use this forum by going to http://www.microstockgroup.com/index.php which shows the latest active threads from each of the subforums.  The more nonsense posted in any forum, the quicker the useful and interesting threads fall off that front page. 

I use that too and the filling up is a true problem, and if I am a couple of days away it may fill all the list (50 threads, I think). But maybe it would be just a matter to add a page navigation for that list.

This is/was a problem on the Istock forums in particular in the off topic forums where the race threads often pushed everything else out of the first page, so other threads would tend to die off.  Hiding those threads would be great.

Dammit I voted no - can I change my vote?   If it will cut down on the trade in personal insults it... hang on, stupid thought, personal insults are hardly endangered here, and all of them are being given away for free.

I voted no.I do not need a thread ignore button.I ignore a large amount of threads as it is for the simple fact most do not interest me.
Adding the feature to save time.. "in my busy business day " is such a weak argument, bordering on pathetic.Just dont log on !!

well it doesn't look like this would be a very easy thing to add, unless I manage to find a better way to do it than I tried yesterday.  It may have to wait until if / when the forum is upgraded to 2.0

On that note, this topic was also brought up a few years ago and the request / solution then was to put the originator of the topic on the front page so you can easily see if you probably prefer not to read the topic.  Hopefully that still helps some people.

Don't know the first thing about grease monkey, but wonder if it would be possible to disappear a particular thread with it?  

Maybe keyed off of the name of the original poster?

I went from 1 to 3 the last couple of days after making a comment about Shank who I'm pretty sure is the other one ignoring me. Shankie must have a few defenders here
