Here's an easy way: Log into IS, then click on your name underneath the IS logo at the top left of the screen. Now look at the address bar (e.g. http://www.istockphoto.com/user_view.php?id=1234567) - the last digits are your user id.

I think there should be 5 gauges under my name, no? The correct icons show at the bottom of my post.

edit: just checked my username on the profile page, all look correct. Maybe tomorrow they will appear.

The gauges are for IS and DT only, below your profile image.  Under your signature you have icons which link to your portfolios in the sites you filled in information in your profile page.

Thanks madelaide. Thought that might be the case, wasn't sure. 2 gauges is enough, anyway.  ;)

Leaf,

I have a couple of questions and comparisons to offer regarding your methodology for attaining these guage levels. Would the following examples be considered equal using the current methodology?

Person #1 DT Portfolio:                       Person #2 DT Portfolio
351 images +  549 sales = 900            850 images + 50 sales = 900

Person #1  IS Portfolio:                        Person #2 IS Portfolio
332 images + 1176 sales = 1508          1100 images + 408 sales = 1508

What is the scale and is it relative to the growing number of images in everyone's portfolios? To put another way ... is it grading by the curve?

Shouldn't there be some weighting more to sales in relation to portfolio size? A person that sells 3x as much with the same portfolio size would seem to have figured something out right ... am I correct?

Also is it possible to put something out that can be pulled from SS? Perhaps portfolio size if not sales? Since SS seems to be a numbers game for the subscription model I would find this to relevant data.

Lastly since my own gauges are pegged to the bottom please disregard my questions and comparisons as this entire discussion will self-destruct in 5 seconds ... because I am not worthy to have this discussion ... :o

-Mark

It would be interesting to see Shutterstock too but we wouldn't know the sales, just the portfolio size.

I chose to have it Sales + Portfolio so someone that is new to Dreamstime is penalized.  If I upload 1000 images today I will have 0 sales but yet 1000 images.

If someone else uploads 250 images 5 years ago and managed 500 sales - that doesn't mean they have things figured out, so to give them more 'points' for a good portfolio size / uploads ratio wouldn't be correct.

So the happy middle ground was portfolio + sales.

Do I need to have sales on iStock before the guage shows ??

Was accepted there last week and have but ONE image accepted so far :-(  but even so, shouldn't my iStock guage be visible !??  DT one works ok !  :)
