SnapVillage Will No Longer Accept Uploads as of May 1st

Hi SnapVillagers,
It’s been just over two months since we announced our plans to roll SnapVillage into a new microstock offering on Veer called Veer Marketplace. We’ve been moving at a rapid pace as we get closer to the mid year launch when Veer Marketplace upload capabilities will be live.
The next stage of this transition requires [...]

Thanks for the info.  I have never uploaded to SV.  Been waiting to submit directly to Veer.  Please keep us posted when that is possible.  :)

it sounded like they were going to try and make a better upload system on Veer.  Lets hope it is successful!

Hi All -

If you've got additional questions on the transition process, I posted some additional comments on the transition over on NiagaraGirl 's blog that might answer your questions:

http://niagarashooter.blogspot.com/2009/04/brian-from-snapvillage-responds.html

The gist:

1) We've been reviewing all accounts and this process will be wrapped up soon. Existing Snap accounts are not automatically grandfathered in. Not all existing Snap accounts will be transferred but most will.

2) Now that we’ve almost reviewed all the accounts, contributors will be hearing from us by mid-May at the latest. Most people have not been informed yet of their account status in relation to being transferred to VMP.

3) We need to close down submissions on SnapVillage because once we “freeze” the SnapVillage collection, we will be able to efficiently extract and transfer SnapVillage imagery and accounts to Veer Marketplace.

Hard to chase a moving target as long as the upload system on Snap is still active. ;)

Hope that helps.

Not too happy about this. I have spent lots of time uploading five photos at a time to Snapvillage. Its going to suck if my photos are not transferred over, even more so because I have been getting regular sales at Snapvillage.

Travis, if you are getting sales at SV then I doubt you are one of the ones they will be letting go of. I imagine they will be cutting accounts that are inactive or else have low quality images that don't sell.  Seems logical, anyway...

Hi Travis
Hi Lisa

Lisa is correct - while we are primarily looking at portfolios and reviewing content for suitability for a higher aesthetic and technical standard - we are also considering what has and hasn't sold, and account activity/inactivity.
