    * www.dreamsteam.com
    * www.123rf.com
    * www.iStockPhoto.com

Such an aplication would certainly be useful for me! It would save me a lot of time. I cannot help checking the sites every few hours...
When will it be possible to try?
Nice day to you.

Sounds like what CushyStock and about 3 other aps already do.  How is it different from what Cushy does? Smiley

@mantonino
the main aim of other applications are
- upload functions
- IPTC
- Keywords
- etc.

the aim of my application are:
- small
- easy to use
and main aim: overview and statistic

Would be great to have a free application like that. But I have some doubts about the security of my passwords, so I'll pass for now.

@hospitalera
Hi
<http://microstockmonitor.unfolded.com/> is a good application but,
- i miss many information (daily/monthly earnings, pending files, etc)
- and you have to login manuall into each agency before you can use the app.
- for other differences: please compare the feature list.
thx

Thanks for the info & I looked at the site.  Cushy does statistics for the main sites too so I think I'll pass but I'll keep this in mind. Smiley

Hi!

I think it's a nice application and i guess you should do something to guarantee that those passwords are not used in any other way. Something like providing the source code so that some expert could analyse it...

(that's why microstock monitor makes you log in everytime... but i also think that's why microstock monitor is useless)

Other thing you may consider is to make it minimize to the icon tray and it could pop up a small window with the earnings on mouse over and making the application fetch the earnings at startup, instead of having to wait the preferences specified amount of time...

Otherwise i like the app

Regards

@fleitao
Thank you for new ideas and suggestion

>...  you should do something to guarantee that those passwords
>are not used in any other way.
>Something like providing the source
>code so that some expert could analyse it...

I think every user or expert can analyse the safety of stockmon by using a network-monitoring software. (so you can trace all StockMon network activities)

In addition all passwords will be MD5 encrypted storaged.
For more security i could add option for user to not save passwords on HDD (in this case after every app-start you have to enter you login data)

Thx

Oh, no.... One more bugware.....
1. this is a BETA version
2. there is no software without bugs!
3. if you find a bug, then report it and make a contribution to improve this software.
I think such statements are senseless, it's simply spam. Sorry  Undecided

Beta is something that is working with possible problems that developers do not (cannot, but not "do not want to") see.

Steps for Stockmon to come a little closer to Beta:
1. Run
2. Configure all supported sites
3. Start update
4. Compare numbers with reality.

Hi UncleGene,
thank you for replay and matter description.

i tried to understand and to reproduce you problem on my environment but without success.

returns all plugins wrong numbers?
cann you recognise the same factor between wrong numbers and correct numbers?
have you set correct excange-rate EUR-USD?
have you changed currency? (most micrstock agencies pay only in USD, but if you change currency to EUR, of course you have got other numbers)
which operating system (+language) do you use?

Thx

These sort of home-produced programs scare the heck out of me. Who are you for starters? Why on earth would you think I would want to entrust you with financially sensitive information just because you've wrote a program?

You're probably a very honest, hardworking individual, but the application is full of bugs, your website is lacking to say the least, your contact details amount to an email and there's nothing to tell us who you are or how to contact you should you be working on a sophisticated little Trojan horse?

And stockmon.110mb.com doesn't come up on a whois search?

So get real mister. If you want come on here and market a product at the very least get someone who speaks marketing English and be a little bit more professional in your approach, because right now I wouldn't go within a thousand yards of you or your application and I trust you now understand why.

hello contract

i can understand your worries but not your ton!
i know there are always some people with opinion that home-produced programs are bad.
but i know too that mostly this sort of people haven't no clue in computers and software.

you tell, that the application is full of bugs, but how do you know it without to try it?  Huh

[..] stockmon.110mb.com doesn't come up on a whois search? [/..]
stockmon.110mb.com is a subdomain!
if you like to pay me a domain, i would made a DENIC record

[..] sophisticated little Trojan horse? [/..]
mister, please read a topic above. (any cann test the application with a network-tracer...)

[..]your contact details amount to an email and there's nothing to tell us who you[/..]
i think this information is senseless, because you can't check it anyway!
(for example: you are a honest user, but your profile here in forum without personal information, why?)

[..]come on here and market a product[/..]
1. it's not a commercial product
2. I force nobody to use it!

I do not know a application which offer me this kinds of features as StockMon.
It was the main matter for me to develop this application.
Now i offer free this application to all on the world, i make a contribution for free software.
Everybody can decide by himself to use it or not

have a nice day  Smiley

The market which stockmon is trying to reach is a very small one --- one that would not attract a commercial firm.  I think it's great that "one of us", who also has programming skills, has taken the time to create a program that will help us with our endeavors.  If one does not want to trust the author, than that's your choice -- but to publicly attack him because he not Bill Gates (who never has bugs in his programs) is uncalled for.

Just me $.02 worth...

Nobody is attacking anyone. I'm merely pointing out some glaring holes in his marketing approach including what I see as very basic omissions on his site.

That is not an attack, those are observations so let's make that distinction here. If you are going to get my personal details it is perfectly reasonable that I know who you are or how you can be contacted despite any claims by the author that those details are meaningless.

Hi Globus

Thanks for putting the time and effort into this software.  As a software developer myself, I know the effort required in getting ANY product to the beta stage.

And, this is freeware, another thing to be grateful for Smiley

Please don't pay too much attention to the negative response you've received here.  I for one am pleased you've taken the time to provide us with this and will be trying stockmon.  If it does what I need it to, I'll be using it.  Smiley  If others are worried about it (and if they don't have the knowledge and skills to verify that it's safe for them) it's their perogative to not use it - fine by me.

For me the application still has the problem that you have to divide the dollar amount by a factor of 100.

Hi Globus

I've tried the beta and have found a couple of bugs and have a few suggestions:

Bugs:
  • As mentioned by oboy, the earnings figures seem to multiplied by 100 (I've worked around this temporarily by setting the Euro to USD rate to 100 and then set the currency to EUR, this gives the currect dollar value)
  • The fotolia earnings figure is completely out - is it, maybe, because my currency at fotolia is GBP and not USD?

Suggestions:
  • How about doing the fetch from the sites asynchronously so that they are collected in parallel instead of serially?  It'll make the program look a lot faster.
  • Might be a good idea to hide the whole box when the stats for that box aren't available.  I'm thinking of the blue headers with 'N/A' in them for today's downloads from 123rf, etc.
  • How about allowing a single site to be updated by clicking on it?
  • Linking to the target site for messages by clicking on the messages count
  • It would be good if you could highlight the sites that have had a download since the last refresh
  • A countdown counter to the next refresh would help those of us desparate to know the latest figures Wink

Just my 2 cents.  Smiley

Hi ste7e,
thank you very much.

>* The fotolia earnings figure is completely out - is it, maybe, because my currency at fotolia >is GBP and not USD?

i didn't  test the application on english operating system, yet.
but now i can verify this problem by changing system decimal separator

i have fixed the problem and i will upload new vewion on server.
i think on english operating system it will be work now well.

and thank you for good Suggestions!
i think there are no big changes, and i will implement it soon  Smiley
