Well I was never a member of StockXpert but I'm gonna give SF a try.  Working on uploading the initial 5 images for review (and why it's taking so long for my comp and isp to do that I don't know).

It's now June 9, 2011 and my application is still pending for over a year now while others get in after a week or so (or a month or so).

Anyone else experiencing the same for that length of time?  I just wanna know that I'm not totally alone in this world.

Yes, me too.
I'm starting to think that they don't have enough resources to play any significant role in microstock. I am no longer sure if I want to be a contributor there. Making people wait 1 year or longer can mean either arrogance or lack of resources.

No, your not alone. I am waiting also although it doesn't cost anything to wait.

Their most popular photo with the keyword "Paris" has 1 download. It seems that in 1 year they only sold 9 images with that keyword. I am just a part-timer but it takes me about 1-3 days elsewhere to sell 9 photos from Paris and I only have about 12-15 of them in my portfolio.

I know many people here are former StockXpert fans, but I am quite skeptical about SF.

I don't know when I applied there, but I am guessing it was over a year ago. Either they are incompetent or don't care for my application or have other things they'd rather be doing.

You have to email them.

Didn't experience this. I registered at the beginning of this year and got reviewed under a week after. Definetly try to email them and see what they have to say.

I was also admitted within a couple of days of applying but sales are very slow so far. I've been with them about 2 months now and total sales only recently went into double figures.  I hope that they take off as I have found them very helpful and friendly.

Sales are indeed slow.  This little I've picked up in their forums is that they have yet to launch their core campaign, although they've done some test marketing.  I've seen their ads on the net.  So, in 4-5 months I have managed to muster up somewhere around $30 in sales.  Only 10 times that amount and I can go get my next set of toys Smiley

I made a payout there last month (after many months with images online) and after that I got absolutely no sales at all. I don't know what they're doing. Everybody had expectations from them, but after a year since they launched, it's no better than it was in day one. Agreed, Stockxpert was something brilliant and even more when they partnered with Photos.com, but those days are long gone.
I don't think they're going to make it, to be even remotely significant in terms of revenue except perhaps for very few contributors (Yuri & alike). I am stopping uploads until I see some action, like sales on a regular basis.

I dont´t agree just on the fact of stop uploading there, they pay a 50% comission, if we don´t contribute there we will never change the way stock is heading.. I am sure they will make a lot more advertising on future, we need to support these FAIR agencies

I agree with Luis. SF may be slow getting out of the gate, but they're a fair company and worth throwing some support behind. The upload process is very easy, so it's not a huge time investment to continue uploading there.

Not to sound too negative but I feel all these fair companies have one thing in common. lack of buyers.

^^^I don't think that's being negative, it's a fact.  I still think we should support them though.  They have no chance of attracting buyers if they don't have a lot of good content.  They stand to lose a lot more than we do if they can't get sales going.  I'm willing to take a gamble and give them a chance.  It feels like a better course of action than just sticking with sites that are going to cut our commissions every year.

I'm supporting them and have had payouts there, I'll be honest though I'm not sure they are going to turn out to be the site we had all hoped they would be.

Is the email address [email protected] or is there another support email I need to use?

Thanks.

Not always true. GL has done well for me and they're a fair company (52%).

And I wouldn't put SF in the same category of the rest of the new, fair, startup microstock companies with aspirations to remain "fair trade" while growing. A lot of people made good money with StockXpert, which was another 50% company. Peter and co aren't new to this. They made it work before, and so I'm inclined to believe that they have a better chance than most of making it work again. And they're doing it without the multi-million dollar investors that are often to blame for cutting commissions and raising prices.

SF is the business model that everyone's been asking for. On the off chance that they succeed, I think it's worth our while to support them. Because if it does work out, we'll all be the beneficiaries of their success.

Finished processing my first batch. Interface is slight improvement over StockXpert but far from what YAY or CanStockPhoto is offering so I would put them somewhere in the middle on usability scale.

On side note. How they get away with source code and sell company to Getty without signing non-competing agreement? If the site is almost StockXpert clone, with a few improvements if they get stronger Getty will go after them.

they haven´t sold StockXpert, they have sold the content on it.. and as we know to place on Thinkstock (Hemera collection) so they made two things, eliminate competition and get more content to subs

Actually I forgot, they sold it to Jupiter and Getty acquired them with all assets.  So Jupiter really did not make contract right  :-) Anyway as long as there were no patents on the source code they probably can reuse it :-)

My sentiments exactly. Also, they have more than 4700 images from me, it should be enough for them to prove that they can actually do something.
